I'm sure they look great but I'd imagine they'd be heavy in comparison to the normal plastic wheels you'd get from FG or others. I doubt they'd take the punishment as well as the plastic wheels either.
 
It all depends on the fitting and what you want to do with the truck.

Mike's a racer, and quite rightly he mentioned the weight difference - probably little more than half that of alloy.

The other thing is even if you're not racing, but the wheels are fairly flush with the tyres, you're going to - not likely to!! - ding/bash them.

Plastic ones can easily be replaced next time you change your tyres, but alloys are dinged for life.

I have alloys on both my 1/5 on-road and my MT.
The on-road gets 'careful abuse' but the MT gets bashed. The tyres I use on it stick out way beyond the wheels, so will protect them without problem.

I am new to your forum but have been collecting Yankee F1 cars for awhile but now I am looking for some after market wheels and tires anybody have any ideas on where I might find some I recently rebuilt one of my F1 cars and changed the motor over to Castle 2028 and now it created a tire wear problem:)
