So I ended up changing out the clutch spring (HPI red 8000 RPM) with a new one. I had this same clutch set-up in my Baja befroe w/ 0 problems, but after putting it in my Rampage it just would'nt accelerate quick, mid and top end is great. I guess the spring ended up losing it's tension rating and was probably engaging around 5000 RPM or possibly lower. Now I have power down low and for $4 bucks can't complain. Now I may have to much top end and looking to get more low and mid speed. I am running 33t A and 27t B gears w/ Cen Genesis 55 series wheels/tire. Which gear combo would you folks recommend to more bottom to mid, acceleration and speed?

Try 30/30. How does the diameter compare to HPI tires/rims? I am not a fan of the 8k springs-they are not for a MT, you loose all of your usable rpm's.

The MT tires measure roughly 8" in dia., the excavators on desperados about 7-1/4" and the Cen Genesis 55 series about 7-5/8"

I may go ahead and try to snag a 7500 RPM spring maybe a lower one as well.

Other than gearing you can try the Z-RC tall intake manifold and a 813 carb. Both will help low end throttle response. I'm just started running both of them recently with my DS engine on my TT and there is a very noticable difference in my takeoffs.
