wanna know what gear carrier to get for torque, broke my plastic, looking for steel but don't know how many teeth?r two speeds expensive?where can i get one?got fg hummer,260rc zenoah.they easy to change?

if you mean spur gear then it depends how many teeth your pinion has?

the carrier is just what the actual gear sits on top of :)

...i use steel pinion, alloy carrier & plastic (stock) spur gear. Reason being is if you upgrade all your drive gears to steel, then shud summit happen such as a stone etc getting trapped, then the damage will be pushed elsewhere... ive heard of diffs being screwed up because of this! :(

so (imo) best bet.. Steel pinion, Alloy carrier & continue using stock plastic spur gear.. just be sure to get (if you don't have one) a plastic gear cover, ive had my MB Pro 2 years & last week was the 1st time ive had to replace my spur gear (usually £10 but got one off ebay for a £5!) ...my old spur gear aint broke & is still usable, but it is slightly worn so decided to get a new one :)

& yup, they are easy change, just remove the C-Clip, slide the old one off & pop the new one on then put C-Clip back on :)

sweet thanks for info,i home made a gear cover.where can i get a 2 speed for my fg mt?lookin at elcon helix,i seen bigboystoys sells 2 speeds for $400 or so,definatly goin to hobby store 2mrw for plastic spur.my hobby guy says they don't make 2 speeds for offroad fg.

There are 2 speeds for your off road. I would not pay 400 for one.:nono:
With the MT I would recommend keeping with the single speed with no cover.
I would recommend alloy gear sets. The weak link will be your diff cups. Always keep an extra.

There are two ways to set up your single speed. You can get an alloy carrier to carry both metal spurs and plastic ones this way you have the ability to change your gearing easier. Or you can buy an alloy spur that will run a metal ring gear just like your diff ring gear.

Covers will allow small rocks and pebbles in and they will keep int he cover longer then if you had it open.

Good luck on your decision.
