hi, im new to RC's and ive been looking at a few of the large scale ones but don't know which one to get. My friend has a hpi baja, but i don't have that kind of money to spend on one, so i was hoping for something cheaper. I was looking at the exceed barca, which doesn't seem to be available for sale yet, the red cat dune runner 4x4, or the red cat rampage TT. id LOVE the baja 5t, but maybe when i win the lottery lol.

Where are you based bud? The KM baja 2.0 is good value if you want new or a used FG can be had for good money. Both have spares readily available.

iv just got a king motor 2.0 im happy with it apart from a crack in the rearl shock holder but rcmodlez are sending a new part out im runing it in tmoz all update you on what i think of it

Welcome to LSF.

I was in the same boat as you. I searched around and found a used FG and just loved it. It came with the receiver and servos and a couple extras. Half of what a new one would be.

FG seems to be very tough. One thing, if buying used, I was told to look at the bottom plate of the machine. If it is all banged upped, the machine might have been through the ringer. Maybe that is just for the FG, though.

Check hobby shops, keep posting on hear, some are for sale, ebay if you like. Just make sure your don't do a knee jerk decsion if your not sure. Used is still alot of $$.

Happy searching:celebrate:

That would apply to all models although if it has spent most of its life on grass it wont be as beat up as 1 that has had regular runs on gravel. I got a used FG & love it :celebrate:

i guess the biggest thing would be your budget.

as for the beat up chassis, by that theory my touring cars must all be junk. they are in top shape, always well maintained however the chassis plate is scraped up as i set the ride height a bit low.

plus 1 on the beat up chassis i wouldnt worrie about it i use to use mine on gravel it hammers the crap out of it and pitts it like crazey only use it on mud and grass now there a 100 other things to look at though servos, engine, bent chassis, plus nealy every second hand car has always had a couple of tanks run through it rubbish i use mine every chance i get had 20/25 tanks run through it in about a year and a half some days alone it gets 2-3 tanks but its still a mint car just read up and carefull don't buy the first thing you like look around then look more

I would agree with you on that. I don't have a touring car so I wouldnt know about that.

I should have said I was talking about trucks. I was under the impression that this individual was looking at trucks.

With that said, I would have to agree that the trucks chassis shouldnt look like a touring cars under belly.

Also looking at the chassis you get to see the arms and such. Also take alook at what is in by the engines and servos. Unless the person that owns it takes it apart after every run (which might be a good thing) you can tell what it has been run in to some degree.

Gravel dust, asphalt chunks, peat rock= lots of off road gravel pits.
Grass and leaves stuff= lots of yard action.

At least that is my thoughts.

rovan's are excellent value for money but I would agree with above, there are some great bargains for second hand vehicles, just do your reaseach before you buy second hand and get as many pics as you can.

The Nutech should be another consideration. I have 1 FG, 2 Nutechs and 1 Redcat. Sold my Shenghai TQ (Firehammer etc), and others. FG parts are a bit expensive, but depending where you live and where you will get parts should also determine what you buy.

In North America, the HPI Baja (and clones of it) are about the easiest to get parts for. In Europe/UK FG parts are abundant. Not bad over here, tires are not very plentiful for on road. Thank god for internet shopping though so you can get parts for much anything if you can handle the wait times.

hi,does any body have a rovan baja 2.0 alloy for sell???? i want to buy one used for my girlfriend, that way i can drive my baja more!!!!
