Hey guys need a little help deciding on a truck. Ok would you buy a Baja 5t that was barely run has a few scratches on the plastic detatchable body,and is an all stock truck $800.00 ? Or would you buy a Baja 5t that has been run a bunch of times proboly raced,and bashed it has a lot of upgrades including 28 cc motor upgraded carb turtle racing clutch system Guyana remote 3 channel with killer rc swich and more for $700.00. ????
 
I would buy the $700 5t depending on the condition, sounds like it has $500 or so worth of upgrades already, is it hpi, rovan, km? pics would be nice?

As far as condition what am I looking for? This is my first Baja ever so I don't know anything about them.
 
The first pic is the black one for $700.

The next 4 pics are the stock Baja 5T $800.

Need more pics of the $700 rig.

The so called stock 5T, is missing a few pieces; side rails, side and rear undertrays, front skid plate, etc... For the asking price everything should be there.

I say look through DDM, I seen the engine less 5SC SS kit is available with a Dom 5SC pipe, for FREE, just for this week. I would rather pick up the kit mentioned and drop another $500 on an engine, radio kit, and some paint.

He has all that he just took it off to make it faster that's the pic that I didn't send sorry it wouldn't upload any way it was all there everything you said and some as far as the 5t with upgrades that's the only pic I can get. He won't send me any additional pics. Anyway I'm sure you know I got burned already from a guy from Lithuania. Still gotta wait though to file a case with eBay. So anyway how can you tell from a pic of the condition? BTW I can't get a 5sc kit and buy an engine I have to get a 5t with everything ready to run my wife was already pissed about the orginal purchase so gotta get a 5t rtr.
 
Well it sounds like you really want one bad but like most have a budget to work with.

If the seller won't send more pics of the aftermarket parts, sounds like a red flag already, I would pass on that deal. I would probably reconsider if the price could be dropped a bit lower.

If possible, I say troll through the usual forums and Ebay. A deal this time of year will come up.

Buyer beware. When I sell something I will send all the pictures a person wants! Did you go to the HBF forums and look in the for sale section? Better chance of getting a honest deal there then many other places. You can all so post in the want adds.

well I have seen a bunch on ebay that I am currenly watching, and a few on another website but what is a great deal I mean these thing go for around 1,200 new in the box so what would be a good deal?

Hold back and wait for all the reviews to come out on the losi 5ive and watch all the Baja's plummet in price as people selling them off to buy the new Losi.There’s going to be some really good bargains coming up within the next few months as no one is going to want anything that is so out dated.

What kind of mix / oil or fuel do you reccomend?
 
i agree with slipstream. you can get a truck with full turtle upgrades and then some for around the 900.00 to 1000.00 range(from HBF classifieds), but as slip said. soon there will be a lot of them dumped off for less in efforts to acquire some quick cash toward a losi. and i recommend becoming a member of HBF and buying from an individual from there. likely to get a more honest seller there than anywhere. if your gonna go used then be patient and get one with the upgrades. if you don't you will end up needing to buy all the upgrades anyways and it will cost you a lot more like that. patience is a virtue and ask as many questions as you need to. good luck.
