hi everyone

this is question that i guess it comes up from time to time.

i am looking for a pipe to replace my ddm that is getting a bit old.

i am looking at various options but there are two that i would like some input for

http://www.largescalerc.com/CPITunedPipeSideMountedforMCDv4-Black.aspx

and

http://www.largescalerc.com/vrcsilencedpipeformcdracerunnerbaja1000rallycar.aspx

the question is if these pipes would fit the rampage.

also which one of the two should i get if they do fit.

i remember seen somewhere the rear cpi baja pipe converted for the rampage if anyone has a link please post it.

thanks

well that is a problem as i do not like this desing witht the pipe exiting at that spot next to the shock. i prefer one that is either side or goes at the back in the middle. i ve seen a conversion of the rear vrc and also the 5b cpi. the two pipes above are for mcd but looks like they will fit i m not sure though. the cpi is under the rampage section on largscalerc although a mcd pipe.

i remember seen photos of that pipe on this site or a thread or something but cannot find it anymore.

how does that pipe compare to the ddm side pipe?

my cpi pipe is super good it makes my stock 23cc stay with rob64n's 28.5 and the 30cc Xt it was modded by sprint 77 to fit the rampage this pipe was for the baja 5t and 5b. it runs dead even with the XT on a drag race. rob and i couldn't beleve the differnce it made in my 23cc it really came to life here's the pics

sorry for the dirty pics it was after a full day at the power jam. jim

that is how every pic should be.

nice and dirty lol

i really love this pipe as it is centered and protected.

so compared to a side ddm it is definitely a better pipe power wise.

btw may i ask what are those nice timing pulleys?

is someone replacing his gears with belt drive?

cheers

the cpi is better than the side dom by a far distance it gives the jet pro a run for it's money this cpi will be the only pipe i will run i'am like you i want the pipe inside the truck and in the center. I'am not sure if it is for the big bore motors maybe sprint will let us know when he see's this post. :D

as for the gears yes that is the plan catchsher has a sweet set up alreadly he sent us a pic of the gear plate so it will be in the works soon

Here's are warm up race at large scale my truck is the teal green rob's the purple one. my truck has the cpi pipe 23cc on in this race rob's running the 28.5cc jetpro pipe

looks really good. cpi is not very popular down under as most guys run dominators or vrc so i am not familiar with the brand but it looks good. jet pro is a 50-50 situation down here. some will be very happy some will say terrible things so i guess they have either really good products or lemons. this is how i ended up looking between the vrc or cpi for the mcd as best candidates for my rampage. now i have a third option the cpi for the 5b. decisions decisions.....

Im gonna have to PM Catchaser, I never got to see the final pics :(

well after a lot of thought i decided to go with the option that looked easier to install.

i was checking the mcd side pipes and picked the vrc pipe.

i do not run a cover so it was very easy to install.

here is a photo and test drive to follow
