Running a KM Baja 5b with 30.5cc. Currently wearing the stock tires, and I've been convinced that a different tire will help alot. Now I'm not sure what tire to get. Will be getting full set-up wheels, tires, foams, etc.

Track is dirt, not soft, but not sure I'd call it hard packed either. Definitely has a high clay content, but also has a fair bit of sand.

So far I'm looking at the wheel/tire combos that Dan has on his Rovanrc.com site. Particularly at the Rovan Excavators (trencher clones) or the dirt tire front and mini pin rear (dirt buster clones). Also thnking about getting "zero growth" foams for the rear tires.

Any thought or suggestions?

Also considering a 5t tire combo for a little more ground clearance when bashing aound in non track conditions.

I recently switched from stock km to hostile mx and they are awesome on grass and semi loose dirt. probably not good for hard packed dirt. The stock km's just slipped and slided everywhere compared to the hostiles. Plus the Hostiles are very hard and should last a really long time.

Thanks for the reply. Considering that this is the only RC track I've been around, I really couldn't say what type it is. May be hard pack, or may be fairly loose. I have already picked up a set of HPI dirt buster clones from Rovan RC, just haven't gotten a chance to try them out yet. If I don't have good results from the dirt busters I'll give the Hostiles a try.

Also working on a set of Proline Trenchers in 5t sizes for general bashing. Got the full set of tires and a set of split six front wheels when they were on "Deal of the day" sales recently. Waiting for the rears and foams to go on sale, or to have the extra cash lying around to blow on them.

Hi, I know this thread I kinda old, but will be in the market for some new rubber soon as well. I got a km baja as well and have been using the hpi dirt busters for only about five tanks of gas. Tires really ballon, and have noticed they are starting to rip, and the foams are split inside. Wanting to try the Hostile mini mx v2. Pretty much just run dirt, loose on top. Anyone try these.

hostile mx hard with no grow foams for rear. I have these with a full mod giz motor and they work great plus the warranty is fantastic. I had one tear and ddm replaced no hassle.
