I need to know which is better for an upgrade on my Baja 5b Fuelie26 with rear dom v1. I'm a basher that likes top end more that whelies.

the 26 topend will yield a bit more top rpm than the 28.5. but not Much.

the 28.5 topend will have a bit more grunt to it ( more displacement) than the 26, so it ll get out of the hole faster, maybe offer a wheely or two from time to time.
 
+1 Tim.I wopuld go for the 26cc(25.4cc) top end kit.I have installed these on three of my FG (two marders and one MT) and all three can pull wheelies and are very quick indeed.If you Youtube 'Flintshire FG ' you will see for yourself.DDM has got a thanksgiving offer on today so have a look there.

I run a 26 in my vw and one in the mt I just sold. with the right pipe it is plenty of power. if you need more off the line punch just change to a red clutch spring. cheap power there.
 
I upgraded tothe Zen 27.2 head kit and love it in my Baja. The top end is great and the bottom is not bad either. If I had tires that could grip it would pull some bottom end power much better.
 
the 2nd link you posted would be what you would end up with if you were to install the topend you were looking at on your motor (28.5 topend) basically this is the full motor


the 1st link you posted is a 4bolt zen 26cc motor. so in the end, the two links you provided would essentially be the motor you would have, IF you were to install one of the two topends you originally linked.

the biggest differance is the full Zen 26 is a 4 bolt topend and has the 813 carb, where the other 26cc topend your looking at is a 2bolt topend.

performance between the 26cc 2 bolt and 4 bolt are very similar.
hard to really tell them apart unless you really know how they run in stock form.
the 28. 5 motor would be a bit different in performance. much like i noted above.

both great motors, but i would likely opt for the full motor Zen 26cc 4bolt, over the other options you listed.

That's the kind of answer I was looking for.
How much power can the stock differential handle before gears start stripping?
 
SS or RTR?

if its the plastic rt, ehh, i would either (IMPO) install the Turtle Racing Diff Saver Cases or build and install a SS diff.

once up to a 26, the stock plastic rtr diff don't take much.

upgradng to alloy diff on my next order.

LHS said I can run a 29cc with no probs. Neded second opinin.
