talking to mike at rcmonster about gearing issues with the 1717 motor and he said he would make plastic spur gears if we wanted. i have one in my 1/8 scale buggy for a year now with no isssues. IDK the cost until i find out how many to make.

what tooth count will fit without modding the chassis?

opinions please?

Better to make pinions. Spur gears have a significantly lower impact on your gearing. One tooth on your pinion is worth 4 on a spur. Most racers use the spur as fine tuning. My two cents....again.

i agree but going to such a low tooth count pinion is just too small for the pinion to survive. i figure one tooth lower on the pinion and 4 to 8 more teeth on the spur to make it more track geared.
