Bought a few upgrades for my new 5b SS , I got a TGN redneck filter....man why do they make getting the filter on and off so dang hard ?
Also recharging the battery...GEEZ US...that is a lot of fun too! They could of located that in a little bit better location don't ya think .
And what the heck is the TRICK to getting the body clips in the rear of the two bottom halfs of the body....almost impossible !

I thought that working on 1/10th scalers was tight...this thing is'nt any better :2guns::2guns::hammer::censored:

Other that that , went out today in mid/low 30's...yea I richened it up a tiny bit....ran like a champ...LOADS of fun to bash..just sucks to work on!!!

You aren't the only one! The redneck is a pain in the butt to get on. The battery, yeah, that is no fun. I'm trying to figure which body clips you are talking about.

The Baja is about the worst but it gets easier each time you disassemble it. Or at least it seems like it does.

Thanks , glad to see im not the only one.

The body clips are the ones that hold the two lower halfs of the body , they cover the pull starter and clutch areas...the rear body clips go up inside the top of the frame...you would not believe the swearing that I was putting together trying to get these clips in...Im not a big fan of the use of body clips EVERYWHERE and what idiot thought that E clips were a good thing on moving parts ? I will be converting my 5b SS over to external spring clips..never much cared for E clips anyway.

Rossco , are you serious ??? You have to take the skid plate off everytime you want to reinstall the lower body panels.....come on ? Well that just makes it more fun then...lol.

HAHAHAHAHA.....glad I could make you laugh...:stick::smartass: HAHAHAHA...

I knew I should of bought the 5T.......:helpsmilie::white-flag::crying:

Matt

for making the pins easier to remove u can take a small piece of chicken wire and attach it,u can also use a small zip tie.

i got a proline undershell for my baja, so you don,t need undertray anymore or the side pods, but they are a pain to take on and off, they keep a lot of the dirt grass etc,, out.

Pablo...I too bought the Pro-Line undertray. Thankfully I wont have to deal with those body clips on the lower body anymore. As soon as I get the time I will paint the undertray along with my new body and my new SUH rim shields...I cant wait !

Im also VERY glad that the guy whom I bought my buggy from installed a pullstarter cover and shock covers from outerwears.....just wish he would have installed at flywheel cover too....I have one on order , just hate the thought of installing it.....:2guns: .

With those add-ons I should keep the leaves/dirt/gravel/grass from getting inside much better than stock.

Matt,

I've used velcro instead of the pins with great success on most of my 1/5 scales. I used to own a baja and would always take the undertray off like Rosco mentioned.

I love the fact that baja's are all body pins & c clips, so quick and easy to strip down for the end of day cleanup!
I can have mine stripped, washed, dried, put back together & tucked in bed in 1/2 an hour !!

"It really helps if you take the skid plate off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1 body clip hiding at the back,, much easier."

Rossco.....I get it now......I guess it would of helped if I had been the one to put this SS kit together instead of getting it second hand so I knew how everything works. And YES it is MUCH much easier to remove the skid plate...hahahaha...its a learning curve man !!!
