Will these Steel gears fit my 2 speed?

Got Plastic 2 speed on my FG MT, they are in very good nick, but just in case they get ruined or wear out soon, will these fit without any mods?

Do you reccomend i fit them instead of the plastic ones?

Not sure they would work. If you are standard on the FGMT then you can go two ways.

One is to buy a set without a carrier.

Second is to buy one with the carrier.

I take it your 1st gear (Small) is metal already right?

And yes I personnaly have never run with plastic gears.

All the gears are plastic!
Don't think its had much use as yet, the guy i bought it from fitted them, so who knows, but they look perfect!
Very tempted just to get rid of the whole 2 speed & go single!
What would i need to convert back to single?
Is it better to have single just for a basher?

I cannot comment on the 2 speed. I never used one. I have always used single speed.

I've just put hardened alloy gears on mine so I don't see why they wont fit.

Think i want to replace the 2 pinion gears to metal for now.
I've heard that the first, inner (18) tooth needs to be a special 2 speed pinion gear, but the outer smaller (16) can be any normal pinion.
Is this the case? & anyone have or know where to get them in the UK?
