Hi. I need to dremel a 38mm piston for a reed G320rc without porting. What is the difference between making a window vs removing part of the skirt on the intake side of the piston? I guess intake duration/volume would be different? but what is best for the reed stroke cycle in a g320rc cylinder without transfer porting (boost port) ?

I also assume that they have different structural strength, but I am not planning on making huge holes for either option.

Most reed pistons come with the window(s) , but some come with window and skirt, and some few come with just the skirt job.

Thanks

I've see it both ways, just slotting the piston doesn't seem to hurt the piston structurally. Windowing it could give it more structure, but will effect Intake flow if you make it wide enough to be menaingfull. Too thin and it's worthless anyway.
