I tried starting my truck the other day, it would start with the choke on but once I take the choke off it shuts off. any advice out there

Check you carb setting or you idle screw might need some tuning

Also check for an airleak. It sounds like you have one.

Loose carb would cause this. if it was a head gasket it would pulse while running. if you have to close the choke you are getting too much air, not enough fuel... also did you change the carb settings? pinched fuel line (or burned fuel line from manifold)?


check the carb and head bolts. also the mounting block the carb bolts onto.
