Would it be wise to buy this FG EVO4 1/5 with the FG factory closing down?

Hello guys, so basically a friend bought a stock FG EVO4 1/5 car in pristine conditions back in September 2011 and raced with it for a season here in the Dominican Republic. Last year he installed a new engine (Zenoah G230RC) and just used it for 2 races during that season and has been sitting ever since may. The car is in good conditions structurally with the exception of the normal wear parts: body, bumper, bottom part of he chassis, the pipe has a little ding from contact with other cars. but other than that the car is stock and in good conditions, comes with a brand new painted alfa romeo body as well.

My friend is giving me this car for a very nice price since we are very close the price is $600. I don't plan to race it but to put it in as mint condition as possible and take it every other weekend to the local track for a few laps.

What concern me is that I heard FG is closing down and I have mixed thoughts about what will happen with the owners of these cars...

Will the parts be difficult to find and expensive?
Will there be enough replacements a few years from now?
Will prices of parts increase or decrease on available stock?
If FG closes down will someone else do as detailed bodies?
Will hydraulic brake parts be available down the line (Magura 1)?

Also from people who have these cars, are they prone to breaking critical parts? As mentioned I plan to replace or worn our parts mentioned and taking it for a spin every once in a while.

Car has:

New Zenoah G230rc engine
2 Savox 1256TG servos
1 Hitec 1/5 coreless servo
1 Lipo pack
Magura 1 hydraulic Brakes.
FG Evo 10 pipe (Nickle size ding)
1 worn out alfa body/1 new painted alfa body

Is it ever wise to buy a large scale model? No, but it sure is fun! Retirement and savings be damned. For that price, it is a good gamble. Still a lot of parts availability out there now, and aftermarket support into the near future. As little as you will be running it, seems to be little risk on your part. From time to time rollers come up for sale and they hold their value so you could snag from them or offer this one up and get most of your money back when it's time to move on. The biggest thing is having time and a place to run with others and you seem to have that opportunity. I like off road so it wouldn't be for me. Just avoid the runaway scenario with a 3rd. channel kill switch, and don't share the track or parking lot with ham fisted throttle grabbers (kids) and you should be happy. They are quite durable if you stay away from parked cars, light poles, etc....Parts are expensive because all 5th scales are expensive....Live it up.

again don't worry theres plenty of people breaking these fg's that spares are easy to get

as for running them theres no problem just don't hit anything lol be safe and fit a 3rd channel kill switch for peace of mind

ive had mine just over 2 years I don't race just bash its a great car the fg and upgraded there even better had mine out today I got soaked but its great fun get it

So I picked the car up, managed to trade my race ready Xray t3 10' plus some cash for it, the car looks in good shape, needs some maintenance done but nothing extreme.

I wanted to ask the following questions,

I want to restore the pipe, it has loosen its original paint and its covered in hard gunk. I would like to prep it and have it sanded down. Was wondering what type of paint can I use for this and would it be worth it to have it painted? is wrapping it in heat wrap a better option?

Also wondering with regards on keeping it clean, I like to keep my cars clean to the touch what recommendations would you guys give me in order to clean it and storing it? My friend used gas to clean it up but IMO it stinks and there should be another way to clean it? Maybe cleaner/degreser and oiling the joints after each use?

The car has the magura 1 brake system and from what I heard the pumps have to be loose in order to have servo travel, is this correct? isn't there a way to have the pumps solid mounted?
