Since getting into dirt oval racing I have been looking at bodies and really like this set up but it is pricey but does come with the pipe. What do you think?

How does it handle?

Is it me, or does it look very 'top heavy'?

Nice looking - does the wing move with speed like the real ones (not sure about that)?

Al.

Do to the price and my situation I do not own one. Yes the upper wing is adjustable and is held on with Velcro. Here is what the people that sale it have to say.

At last Baja Modifiers is proud to announce and release “The Sprinter” this is a true scale 600 micro sprint car conversion for your 5B. We have teamed up with RTS Chassis who is a major producer of micro sprint car chassis for the past 20 years. Each one of these conversion kits are hand made to insure 100% quality. The cage, Neff bars, front and rear bumpers are made out of chrome ally tubing which is extremely strong and lightweight. The kit weights a total of 3.2 pounds! This conversion is simple to install! It bolts and pins on to the stock chassis very easily and also access is wide open to all components. The install will take 2 screws to the rear bumper and 2 pins on the front bumper. The body and wing are made out of lexan and are replaceable in sections. The wings are held on with heavy duty Velcro so if and when you roll they will fly off and create less damage. The top wing is adjustable for pitch. You will also have a choice of powder coating colors for the main frame. The bumpers and Neff bars will be silver. Jetpro has done an amazing job with giving us a scale looking pipe with outstanding performance. Powder Coating Color Options: Red, Black, Yellow, Blue, Orange, Florescent Orange and Florescent Yellow. Kit price = $775.00 with pipe or 650.00 with out pipe. Each kit will include the following: 1-Main Cage 1-Left Neff Bar 1-Right Neff Bar 1-Rear Bumper 1-Front Bumper 1-Front and Rear wing mounts 1- Complete Body panel kit 1- Complete Front and Top Wing 1- Jetpro Sprinter pipe 1- Powder Coating with Clear Coat Please note that these conversions are made to order and will take 2-4 weeks for delivery

It certainly looks different.
Price - depends how much you're willing to pay, as well.
Are there any other manufacturers?
How complete are their kits, and how much?

I'm not into going round and round to be honest, but I can understand the skill involved, mainly in balancing and holding OFF that power, and just tweaking as and when to get the best times.

Are there others in your area into that, or will you be on your own?

Nice, but not my cup of tea TBH.

I have never been into oval racing and thought I would never run oval but after not having a track in Georgia that ran large scale for about 2 years I was just about ready to sell my 5b SS. Bashing to me gets boring quick! They open a dirt oval that runs all scales including large scale about 60 miles from me so I thought I would give it a try. Well a couple laps on the track I changed my mind and I am hooked. 1 to 1 dirt oval racing is BIG in the south east.

The information about how complete the kit and price is in my last post. So far I do not know of any other manufacturers making a sprint kit for the 5b SS. They do make some other bodies for the 5b for dirt oval racing but not like the one in this thread. Do to my situation I am just happy to be able to keep my 5b SS and do some racing.

I love sprint cars its great fun but for $775us thats alot of money for the kit, you got to ask your self every time you roll it crash it whats it going to cost to repair, I would say those wings aren't cheap to replace and for that i would say no unless your made of money...... if you search you'll find much cheaper kits out there, i think ddm has a kit

More then likely my situation will not allow me to buy the sprint kit but that does come with a pipe for the price. The wings are held on with Velcro so they should come of in a wreck but still could damage them.

Yes they make some EDM and late model bodies that are some cheaper but not any where as cheap as a unpainted 5b body but sure I will never find anything as cheap as them LOL. EDM and late model bodies unpainted and you have to put them together cost around $200 US. Right not I cannot afford one of these. LOL

OuttaLuck do you race bikes and is that you in your signature? I do not race bikes I am into touring when I cold afford it. In 2005 rode to Alaska and back a little 10,000 mile plus trip in a month. Been riding 40 plus years none stop.

The sprint car conversion handle so much better, this is a picture of sprint and late model.
