I busted a rear diff cup...

Is #07145 the replacement part?

My manual shows #07145 in the exploded view, but then has # 710021 in the parts list?

Part 710021 is the hardened version. Either will work but 710021 is a stronger part. I had thought the other was discontinued I guess not. I am out of stock so you'll have to check around.

Well I hope I ordered the right one, 710021. [off ebay---found both thought this one was hardend]

What grease/oil should I use?

The new cups should be here tomorrow, I ordered 3k,5k,7k,10k silicone oil...

Just to see what it acted like. [if I notice any change]

The new oil will be in a few days.

I have 50k I was going to use in my revo center diff...

The stock oil looks very thick, would the 50k be too thick?

Without seeing the new stuff I'm just guessing the stock to be 50k or thicker?

Not sure what the stock stuff is. It is thick. 50k would come close to a solid diff. Too thick. You would not want it in the front.

Yes the stock is thick I am not sure that its even oil seems more like grease I like to run 3K front 10K in rear great for turning control on the track.

I got new diff cups...still waiting on oil.

After cleaning most of the stock oil out, it still seems tight.

The diff turns but very tight and lumpy feeling.

I can feel each tooth mesh, thought wth little/no grease it would turn fairly easy.

I have not pulled my front diff yet, but in the car the front feels much smoother.

The gears look brand new, and no noticable wear.

The diff looks good where the pin rides for the smaller gears.

Any thoughts?

Shim your diff and back off the screws holding the two diff housing together a tiny bit.

Cleaned it a bit more, oil came in the mail today, and I used 10k for the rear.

I filled it till the lower gear and almost 1/2 of the smaller gears were covered.

Seems ok , ran about 5 min and it now seems easier to turn than the front?

I ordered 3k,5k,7k,an 10k oil.

I was going to try 3k up front and 5k in the back.

The 5k was back ordered [obsolete?] All were losi silicone diff oil.

The 10k seemed thinner than the 7k...?

The 3k is definitely the thinnest.

When holding all three tubes, and turning them upside down...

The 3k won the air bubble race, then the 10k, followed by the 7k...?

I would've thought the 7k would be in the middle of the air bubble race?

That's weird. 7k is for sure lighter than 10k. Did you rebuild the diffs at the same time? Any chance you could've reversed them (Put the front in the rear, etc.)?

I only did the rear so far, due to a broken cup.
