Ok ive got a problem I cant seem to solve.

Took the 1/5 buggy out for a run this morining, ran it for about 40 mins no problems. Then all of a sudden the receiver stops responding to the radio. So I turn off the engine and the receiver responds fine, no probs. I turn the motor back on and no signal, no response what so ever.

Turn the motor off again and same problem. Its not glitching, just not picking up a signal at all. I remove the cover and check the wiring around the magneto and all ok.

I run a DX3S. Removed the receiver cover and whenever the engine is on the failsafe light is flashing, motor off and all green, perfect signal.

I cant seem to work it out.

Also I tried a spare receiver and same problem.

Any idea?

If it was a normal car I would say it sounds like its something to do with the HT leads, check the plug lead, make sure its clean and dry. I not sure but I think the engine sould have a suppressor on it some where to stop electrical interferance, will have a look at mine to check.

or the vibration of the motor could be causing intermittant failure of a power wire or switch.... possibly the rx pack is dead?

I had a nitro touring car drove me nuts. on the straight past the lighted neon sign, I was losing signal, I hit the wall a couple times. I looked around and thought someone had tanked me with their radio, sign was interfering, changed so much... ended up it was a loose connection in my rx pack and the dip in the pavement there was enough flex to seperate.

change rx batteries too, plug straight into the rx and bypass the switch.

have you cut the rx antenna down?

Thanks for the info guys. I was thinking about buying a new 6v battery pack over the weekend but didnt.

Might get one this week and try. Old one is looking a bit tattered.

I tried a new plug and same problem. My local hobby shop thinks it may be ignition related? I don't know much about the iginition system on these things. They think it may be spiking or something.

i sort of think the same thing, thats why i sugested swaping spark plugs, as i would asume you would of checked the battery and voltage befor posting

I will re-bind this week and check. Changed sparky, voltage is fine, wiring to and from receiver is fine, even opened up receiver and sprayed with contact cleaner, it was a little dirty.

I got a feeling its ignition related but ill check the basics first. Didnt think of re-binding it.

Ill keep you posted.
