Well its official - Im an idiot!

Finally found the receiver problem im having with my XRC. After spending heaps of time removing the cover, checking magneto, coil etc and almost ordering another coil just to check I decided to removed the battery tray.

Didnt originally do this because I thought to myself well its working with the engine off so it cant be the battery. Anyway when I removed it today the shrink wrap was almost gone, parts there is something seeping through and the negative wire is now in 2 peices!

Cant believe I spent so much time diagnosing this and not checking the battery. I bought a new one, Sanyo 5 cell 3300mah, need to change the connectors, give that a test on the weekend and hopefully problem solved.

Man I feel so stoopid! :blush:
 
:lol: No, you wouldn't win the most stupid award. After many years of listening you wouldn't believe some of the simplest things we all forget from time to time. Nice to hear you diagnosed the problem.;)
 
We all learn by our mistakes mate! You think you've made a boo-boo? I went into a restaurant and ordered Ratatouille and got two dead rats on a plate!

Cheers mate. I was relieved to finally find the problem but a little embarrased at the same time LOL
