Let me start off by saying I expected allot of trouble with this because it is a budget one and im ok with that because I enjoy working on these things and finding better ways so to speak but.............

Picked up the buggy monday (second hand off ebay). According to seller did 3 tanks at park (flat grass) breaking it in. Buggy looks new, no screatches anywhere, undearneath is perfect.

Put the buggy in garage, wire it up with my spektrum receiver so I can use my DX3S, worked ok on stand. put it on ground, turned the wheel and the steering servo stripped itself!

So im going to hunt down a good one to repalce it with instead of try and fix the cheap one it came with.

Hopefully I can have it running for the weekend.

Ok finished fitting two new servo's to it and so far its working well with DX3S although I haven't run it yet, just tested on bench.

Fitted HS645MG for throttle/braking and HS5745MG for steering, that should do it quite nicley!

good servo choices.. I had started to write you something yesterday after your first post, alas my computer crashed before i could send it..
Coincidentally, i was going to recommend the same servo you chose!!

Awesome, great minds think alike. Its so much quicker to respond than the standard servo.

There is no way they could make it affordable if they gave you good radio and electronics. I guess we all understand, just wish the companies would give the option to eliminate them. I have heard that most companies that have asked to have them without for a cheaper cost say that the material and labor is too small to save anything coming off the assembly line so its not a savings.

Kinda makes sense to a degree but would be better if we could option without or decent ones altogether. Most of the time the electronics are the only things that need changing. My nitro buggy and now my 1/5 were both the same, servo's to be changed out of the box.

Most of the cost is in labor, and we know where all these toys are being made and copied. They don't make much per day so to remove the step costs more then leaving it in.

I think they make most of their money on the spare parts, much like the auto industry. I think allot of these are designed with problem parts to keep the money coming in.
