From OBR for this carb: "stock settings for the 1107 on a stock g320 are 1 7/8 high and 1 3/8 low."

Should be pretty similar for the 32cc HY

@1RC5 Where did you get the stock settings info for the 1107? I looked everywhere and couldn't find it so I just used the stock setting from the 990, which apparently is quite different. I was convinced that bogging off the line means too rich, so I just leaned it, didn't think about going in the opposite direction...

In the meanwhile... :)

Ok. Official settings, look at page 18http://www.davesmotors.com/site/zenoah-g320rc-owners-manual-ddm.pdf

HSN 1 7/8 +/- 1/4

LSN 1 3/8 +/- 1/4
Ok, so... I wanted to take it out today and test these out but unfortunately it's pooring outside. But since tomorrow I'm leaving on vacation, I really wanted to see at least if that horrible bogging would go away with the new settings so I went to an underground parking lot for a quick test. With the default 1107 settings it would not start, not matter what. I pulled and pulled and pulled and nothing, it wouldn't even pop when the choke was on. Took out the spark plug, de-flooded it, checked for spark, put spark back in and try again, same result. I leaned both LSN and HSN about 1/4, no go. Eventually I managed to get it started by holding the throttle WOT while pulling. I then moved the HSN back to the stock 1 7/8 aaaand.... no bogging :) I couldn't run it much being in a parking lot with cars around and a very slippery surface but first impressions were that it was slower than the stock carb. Probably 1 7/8 is too rich, as it was smoking a lot.

Try leaning out the LSN so it starts and idles and go from there. HSN probably too rich, so you have something to keep you entertained when you return.

Enjoy your vacation

Yeah, this car is definetely anything but boring :) )

Installed the new lights:

Got it running ok after some leaning, it moves pretty good. Compared to the stock carb, seems a little bit better on low revs, but not a huge difference. On the down side, the high needle has some fuel/oil mix on it, could the carb be leaking?...

The needle is a screw into the fuel area. It's not a perfect machines fit, so it's going to leak through the threads. Some people use purple loctite to seal it up and stop it from loosening. Purple is weak, but it seals well.

I see, thanks. Another thing is that I'm really having a hard time starting it, after I killed it while at @16.000rpm to check the plug, it took about 30 pulls to get it going again. Not really sure what could be causing this :(

How do you usually tune? Since adding the jetpro exhaust it's practically impossible (for me, at least) to get any clues from the engine sound. Having telemetry helped me now, it was very easy to find the setting that gave me the highest rpm.

If I am just bashing around, I tune with sound and high rpm. Then back off by 1/16.

If I am racing, I usually have Eric Hill or OBR tune it their way. Usually by RPM and the smoke puff you talked about.

I see, thanks. Quick question: do you know what temperature the engine shouldn't go over? Is 120-125°C ok?
