Thanks GasserIt was you that put me onto the silencer in the first place.

How is your coupler going?

Mine is starting to melt.

The coupler on the main pipe from the motor that is.
Yes I burnt threw that a long time ago I had to by some more higher temp coupler it was high $ and had to buy it by the foot but its held up great and I just cut off a piece when needed. Sorry its been so long ago I can not remember were in the hack I bought it from but it was suggested from somebody on this forum. I will have to see if I can find the old thread.

Thanks Mate

I've got some on order from the local spare parts shop

$22 for 3 inches!

It better be good

New stuff :)

  • Walbro WT-1107 (looks to me like the old carburetor had some leaks)
  • ADA Billet RC intake manifold with teflon heat spacers
  • Diaphragm filter
  • Tacho

And a nice tip I found online, adding grease to the end of the filter for a good seal to the filter case

Alloy manifold is a good choice

I run the same

Nice build you've got happening

Definitely some inconsistency in the Jetpros

Mine is a lot closer to the shock tower.

How did you get the wing to fit ?

looks good , the old carb with the dust/leak appearance kinda normal , they all will look a tiny bit wet and collect dust, pushing a tiny bit out is ok , when it starts sucking back in is the problem.

the exhaust coupler is a hassle, blown out countless, esp. as you add power. the stock rarely blew out, but everything else without fail. i used an aluminum pipe cover, crinkle wrap for plumbing pipe joints, simple, very effective easy to work with and completely covers joint material, just add it in under clamps.

the grease seal on the air filter , it is also oiled and in compression right ?

Could you post an image or something? I'm not quite sure what you're talking about.

The filter was oiled, not sure what you mean about compression.

heres the exhaust coupler with the Al cover,

the air filter , when the parts are all put together, the foam element is in slight compression (snug fit) with the base and cap.

Yes, the inner foam (the oiled one) is compressed by the plastic frame of the filter.

That's a very nice idea with the exhaust coupler. Unfortunately, I don't think I could add anything more over the normal coupler, it's already pressed against the shock tower. I actually had to put a little piece of rubber in between because the shock tower was digging into the exhaust's coupler :(

oh yeah looking back at pics , tight spot for sure.

if it becomes a problem, mod for room and cover , if joint gap is sizable it will blowout.

the airfilter, do you grease both ends ? interesting add in . i access the carb throat for finger choke on the basic cup and like the easy handling,

oh!1 the 1107 has a choke! so i see you can keep it closed up.

"lube" is fuel tolerance? , is it a silicone gel ? lithium soap?

Not really sure how I could mod it...

No, just the part that sticks to the air filter casing, towards the carb. I saw this trick in a tutorial video showing how to build the baja SS kit -

The grease that I added to the filter? To be honest, I don't know what kind of grease it is (you can see it in the picture with the greased filter, in the background). It's the highest temp grease I could find, I use it on my gears.

watched the vid, looks to be regular lithium soap grease. he did both ends. with a outer cover and prefilter foam, doubtful i would ever take the thing apart!

the vid series should help alotta folks with work flow and hobbying in general. nice find

... and now after new plug, manifold, carb, air filter... it won't start :) ))
