Thanks for your help, guys!

Drill a new hole on the mount to correct the height and angle. Trim the mount a little on the top if necessary. Unless you can weld but that's another story regarding the chrome plating.
I tried seeing what it would take to make it fit and the hole would need to be outside of the mount, the difference is just too big.

You would also have to raise the wing to accommodate the silencer which isn't a hard thing.Ice have you talked to Dino about the height of your pipe??

I can't see where the extra height is.

It looks the same as mine but obviously isn't.
I already raised the wing to accomodate the pipe, I would really like to not have to raise it even further, it will become a lot more susceptible to breaking in case of rolling the car.

I did talk to Dino briefly, at the moment he's suggesting adding another mount in between which will allow me to rotate the silencer down so it's input is facing upwards and I can get the silicone connector going out of the pipe and straight down. Aside from the fact that I don't know where to make the additional mount, I think it would look like crap.

The extra height of the pipe is in the exit part, mine just keeps going up for another inch before turning and exiting towards the rear of the car.

Why is your silencer different than Phill's (black exit tip)?
I asked Dino that very question and he said that they noticed people raise their wings anyway so the curved exit was no longer necessary. It also doesn't have the JetPro embossed writing on it. Sounds like cost cutting to be honest. I'm really not too happy about this, because that's the photo I used when ordering, that's what I was expecting to get...

Yeah, not ideal... Dino said to send it back and he'll fix it so now I gotta find a way to get it all the way from Europe to the west coast and back without spending more than the silencer itself

Are you sending back the pipe or silencer?

The pipe is the problem

Yet another DuneRunner :)

I'm sending back the silencer for several reasons:

- i'm very happy with how the pipe looks and works, no point in getting a new one that might have other fitting issues

- it's harder to take off the pipe

- I wouldn't be able to use the car until I got the new pipe back

- the pipe is bigger and more difficult to ship

- there are more things I don't like about the silencer except the fitting (missing jetpro embossed writing, missing chromed curved exit) so getting a new one exactly how I want it seems like the better deal

Fair enough

I'd hate to pay postage on the pipe

It's not light!!

Meanwhile, I continued the blue theme of the car by adding blue aluminium pull start handle, blue aluminium gas tank cap, I painted the gearbox cover and replaced the beadlock rings (the old ones were gray and pretty damaged from all the curb stones that refused to get out of my way lol).

I held off on installing the slicks, I'm gonna hang on to the tarmac busters until they let go completely. I was thinking in the end of disabling the front wheel drive, putting the car against a wall and doing some burnouts. Did anyone try that? Any chance of damaging something else on the car? (clutch maybe?)

I was also happy to see that the stock metal gears are holding up just fine to the new power, they don't seem to give a f***, despite running only on tarmac.

Aren't these the powder metal gears? I wasn't aware of any upgrade concerning the gears material

The powder metal looked to be rougher than yours.

I thought there was an upgrade?

Maybe Rob can help here?

Pretty sure they are all still powder metal. I've ordered several in the past few months, until I got my aluminum plate. I had some custom made from OBR. Billet gears. Still waiting on them. No idea of cost yet. Sean from OBR has them cut in Europe some where. I will keep everyone posted.

Any thoughts on this?

hold unit from the REAR , less binding. allow grip to release , lift and rev. a little splash of water to assist release. just attach a "leash " to rear and rip away.

the 2wd, definitely fun! considerably wild compared to 4wd. tedious throttle work over 4wd. the disable---> complete hassle! it works but you will want 4wd. the DR with motor in the rear of chassis , has 2wd balance points kinda built in and in 4wd mod already has "similar" behavior . the 4wd just delivers the pull away controlled grip out of the corners.

good call on the pipe issues.

blue theme looking great.

Thanks for the input :) Why do you say disabling the FWD is a complete hassle? It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes, just remove the 4 bolts holding central support, just in front of the gas tank and that should be it.

any wrenching, over running is a hassle. i know its only 6 screws..its a time thing with loctite, i force myself to wait over night before running. so for me its a run or wrench for the day . oh choices
