Ive not seen Vai but seen Satriani a few times. He is AWESOME !!!
Prefer his earlier stuff like Surfin with the alien & flyin in a blue dream. BOY can that man play the Geetah !!!:2guns:

Love "passion and warfare" by Steve Vai too. Brilliant album.

My top 5 at the mo are:
U2 (Mostly their old stuff-Joshua Tree)
Stereophonics
Snow Patrol
Iron Maiden (Full Blast on the Mp3 whilst on my FLT)
and i like Van Morrison when the moods right.

I can go from Soul through to the Heavy stuff, if its good i'll listen.

I saw Vai play with Zappa when he first started. He was just a kid. Small place with 2000 people. Never seen a band do this... got on stage, said check this out, this is our new album and nobody has heard the tunes yet, tell us what you think. That was about the coolest convert I ever saw.

I have every recording Satch ever did. When I was playing hockey, I use to listen to Satch before I played always. I felt if I could play with flow like him, I'd have a great game.
