hello all just curious to ask this.

my worst runaway was on the famous beach in kerry, inch beach, huge flat beach for miles, anyway was running the fg ages ago when i first got it and didnt realise i has a wire cut to the reciver, and off it went straight through a crowd of people(didnt hit anybody) and off i went running after it nearly chocking gasping for breath, car went out of the beach flat out......w.o.t,straight through some guys fence and crashed and rolled 4 or 5 times in to the mans lawn spinning at w.o.t throttle until i came to the rescue, had to try and get my finger in to the kill switch and burned my arm on the pipe :censored::cursing::lol::lol:

second worst was got up one summers morning to a lovely day and thought, mmm nice day to run fg,so took it outside and cranked her up,noticed some clitching going on with my throttle servo,so quickly tryed killing engine but it went W.O.T (wide open throttle) as it did i caught and held it,but as i did it done a burn out on my leg OOOOUCHHHHHH that was flippen sore..... took my a week to get the rubber out of my leg,and boy what a burn...:cursing::lol:

ahh where is the shame in it lol
this was at the very start when i had little or now experience with largescales lol
funny looking back though..

ive had alot of "almost" runaways. one was cought on cam wich i posted. i run kill switches in all my rigs. i have plenty of times were i have encountered wire problems and servo malfunction, but they were all cought in time with a flick of the switch.. hopefully your luck don't run out and hurt someone

well man to be honest now that was at the start when i had no experience with the large scales, good point though,i am going to get a few good pico style units that can kill engine from transmittor..

the one i have doesn't give you this option,it just kills engine at first sign of problem, its a nuissance, must get few good ones.

i havnt had a runaway , i use a kill switch relay setup . where i have to have the transmiter and reciver on other wise i cant start the car [ igntion cut]. if i loose battery power the igntion cuts , i can turn the egine off any time i like via the transmiter . then i have the inbuilt fail safe setup .

its never happened to me, but my friend and his hpi baja who's not on here got some acoms 2.4 (had some not the best range) he set the failsafe first then reversed the servo lol so he set off on the beach it went out of range, failsafe kicked in and went full throttle down the beach with a full tank and went out of sight, felt sorry for him but it was funny after we found it about a mile away salt water stopped it, oh then we had to look for my mates car key which he lost running after it lol
