So, last week I posted my buggy score. I just saw an aluminum frame on marketplace.
Turns out there is a Monster Buggy forum here. This is the first post here in 3 1/2 years.
What I have learned so far:
Produced for 10 yrs from 1993
The Mitsubishi TL26 engine was OEM, either early version or late?
Chassis Assembly "Note Zenoah-powered models use metal rods instead of the Bowden cable assembly."
I have a cable and no rods.
I have optional engine bracket Rear assembly shows "This part not used on Zenoah-powered models."
This buggy has optional Anti roll bar, on front, not rear.
They produced a road version, I believe with slicks. Haven't even found a pic of this yet.
That's the good of it, after assessment and cleanup, there is a lot missing from this buggy.
No radio box
No fuel tank mount (this motor might have had a different fuel tank, looks different to me.)
Rear shock mounts are broken on the diff housing.
No wing or body.
To continue this story, I found 2 more on Kijiji.
Traxxas TRX (from ad)
One complete, one in pieces and tons of spare parts.
I see the optional pipe, right on top and an original radio and original Traxxas boxes.
My wife picked it up today and said the tote is really heavy, without the cars in it. Can't wait till it's home.
