Cheap alternatives to outwears?

I've laddered all my tights so i'm about to use my old hi-vis vest from work, going to glue it around the pull start.

They are cheap and not sure if they hold up to the outerwears. Never used them.

I'm out with the Deeside crew this Sunday and have just cut up a pair of my wifes tights black with plenty of lycra for that longer lasting bash.

I will give a report on this for those interested next week as the Deeside site is a mixture of sand, soil, gravel and a small amount of grass by all accounts.

Got outerwears pullstart cover though.

Well, had a great day over at Deeside, must have been 15 cars or more running and got quite congested at times but no real harm done. Weather was good plenty of loose sand and dirt plus grass, the wifes tights (Panty hose for our American friends) held out pretty well, stripped the car down to clean it tonight and the two stage filter inside was quite clean. Not as hard wearing as an outerwear filter but way cheaper. Job done i'd say.
