Hmmm, good tip on wrapping the exhaust pipe to save the lexan body from warping. Any pix of it installed?

Funnily enough I tried it and ran it for about 3 to 4 hours like that..... took it all off and just kept the heat protection under the shell near to where the exhaust sits. far better. The wrap actually makes things hotter as it retains the heat. Just make sure you have plenty of ventilation.

Oh, I see. So it's best to just put an aluminum tape underneath the lexan body then. Hmmm, far simpler solution. Thank you.

By the way, have you tried using a x-can muffler from TeamGoNads.com? It's a very simple box muffler with a two stingers going out to the rear.

be careful using alloy tape i coated the compleate inside of my beetle shell for heat and a bit of extra strength seemed fine but then i was getting major radio glitches didnt have a clue what was causing it then i removed the tape and no more glitching so i would avoid putting tape anywhere near radio or areial just in case you may be ok with 2.4ghz as mines a 40fm radio so may have been due to that

Thanks renbar for the tip. I'll be using a Spektrum DX3S system on it with lipo-friendly Hitec servos. If it glitches, you'll be the first to know..LOL... I'm almost finished with her, just need to paint the BIG lexan body...:)

no worries mate it will probaly be ok if you just put it near hot areas i got carried away done the whole shell took me ages to find out what was making it glitch
