best servo for baja?

that is an excellent servo, you will need to run a 7.4 lipo pack as your rx battery thought and make sure your rx can handle this.

my opinion is the hs5755mg, ive used these in all my large scale rc's and never had an issue, runs off the standard 6 volt rx battery. excellent value for money and the most durable servo ive ever come accross.

think sperera blob on there mate, sure the 5755 takes over from the rhino, same inners but with the hitec cover. i run hitec 5645 which have found ok but as said the 5755 is supposed to be better.

5645 is a good servo, 5755 has a little more torque which isnt always required.

5755 comes with alloy horn too which is good. and the upgraded output gear on the 5755 makes it very hard to strip a horn, ive hit plenty of trees and never damged the horn or the servo.

the 5755 is the servo that has broke...the hitec plastic case has sheered mount points and the metal gear has half its teeth missing!!

ive been looking at savox servos aswell. anybody have any experience of savox 1256?

You can get the Hitec 5755mg from Kings Lynne Models for £41.99. Cheapest place I have found. Plus the Hitec is sealed for dust and water whereas the Rhino is not.

thats largescale racing for ya largescale = large repair bill but when working 100% theres nothing better rc wise thats for sure stick with it bud youlle get there but i know how you feel nothings worse than having to replace stuff cause it needs it much better replacing stuff cause you just want to

People - Sperera certainly !! - seem to like the 5755, but Rhino is excellent.
Pose factor is also off the scale and for expensive vehicles is unfortunate factor.
I did read somewhere that the Rhino - still 100% available in Europe, only stopped in USA - is voltage sensitive.
Earlier in the post, mention is made of using LiPo.
Joining the 2 together, use a 6V10A LRP voltage stabiliser. That way both your Rx and servo will have no problems.
I have a single Rhino on my road car, but a a twin Rhino setup on my MT. I use LiPo, 6V10A stabiliser and a bypass wiring circuitry on this one, to avoid drawing too much current from the Rx. It works flawlessly - but is a LOT of wiring.

Somebody earlier mentioned Savox - for standard servos, they're the BEST around without question. I use Savox 1256TG for throttle / brake on both of my large scale. DO NOT use for steering.

Just my 3 penneth.

i got the rhino
i use have savox 1256tg for throttle/brake...was jus wondering about the 1258tg for steering. im happy with the rhino...it feels better steering the baja with this servo than the previous 5755 but i suppose its personal preference....im abit concerned about the rhino not being water and dust resistant??? is this true???
anyway for the first time since i got it the baja is parked up fully working :w00t::w00t::lol: at last!!!!

Ininja, believe me the rhino is not water and dust proof, it's almost water proof. Over on the MCD Racing forum a guy who runs with us at Deeside (15 years experience in large scale) has posted up how he helps make them water and dust proof. But why spend double the money and then have to work on it to bring it up to the level of the 5755? also, you don't have to pay extra for the metal arm on the Hitec!

what makes it waterproof if the cases are identical???

I suppose the attention to detail! I was not aware the cases were identical, more likely the internals are identical.

The way it is sealed/type of seals used, is the probable difference.

the 5755 top case has broken plastic mounts and 1 stripped gear!!!!
maybe i could use the rhino top case and the same metal gear to mend the 5755. the only part that could be affected by water damage must be the circuit board and its enclosure which is all perfect on the 5755.

yes biggs i should have ordered the 5755 from kings lynn models for 41.99

i have another problem with the engine biggs if u could help???
was running her today and at flat out she has started to drop revs n then pick up again then again repeat that trend consistantly....definately losing power aswell she just doesn't seem as nippy???

cheers
mark
