mine doesn't look like that mate????????? the housing on mine the same all the way round, leos must be different....

I checked the other marder last night and that is the same and also has the casting ground back on the other side to allow the mount to sit correctly. Its nice having another for reference - imagine the swearing trying to get it to fit if I didnt :lol:

when i got that 30.5 pro mx,that had a cy clutch case, tried to fit,but didnt have the cutout so large engine mount wouldnt fit,had to put the zen one on.

he said if you order the part from cy or zen then the cut out isn't there, you order it from fg then the cut out is already done as it was an fg mod to the casing

Done it matey!! Took me longer to get the gear out :w00t: Will get the pics posted now while I have my tea

Here you go......
Tools used:
4 1/2" grinder with flap disc
A smooth file (a rough file will leave scratches in the casting)
Needle files for finishing

Time = approx 15 mins (depending on how good a finish you want!!)

You need to take 5mm off the face of the casting on the clutch side. You only need to take off enough to allow for the width of the bracket but I took the corner off with the flap disc for ease. I filed it up with the needle files to radius the corners and make good.

The back side of the casting need filing flat with the smooth file. don't worry about filing through and exposing the bolt head inside - this is how they are machined to fit the FG engine mount.

Gear meshing is spot on now :D Must have been the mount not sitting true that was pulling the shaft out of line slightly.

Getting there Andy (although it should have been done ages ago):lol::lol:

mine Is in bits again...not happy with the brakes so going to try make up some new bits..

Do you ever lube the gears up with anything? I thought they were making hell of a noise so I used dry wax(meant for my mountain bike) what a difference it made to the noise ..

Do you have a pic of your cable brake set up too?(other marder)

I had to wait almost 3wks for the tuning brake from rossmods :( thats my excuse anyway :p

Is this thread any use to you......

oh to answer your question on the gears - I just tend to bang a bit of spray grease on before I go out. These are noisy by comparison to other 1 cos of the spur & pinion are both steel so not sure whether to use the same or just some general purpose grease.

Great thanks
the pics help but they are the same as mine and they don't work worth a sh*t
I might be expecting too much but stopping has to be a priority.
I using a blue peter servo same as yours..so should work.

the dry wax worked great and as its dry nothing sticks to it and it also doesn't spray all over the car.

how long does it take to slow the car to a stop from flat out??
:w00t:

Ermmm.......40-0 in 1 sec if you hit a tree :lol:

Have a play around with them and you should be able to get it to stop pretty well. It just takes time but Ive found they are very temperamental. Getting them balanced so you don't go round in circles under braking is a fine art!! They work loads better with a back brake tho.

Where do you get the wax from? I assume the local bike shop will sell it but do Halfords sell it as it will prob be cheaper there?

I got it from a bike shop..its called squirt..first on the page.

not sure if halfords sell it or not.I paid £8 for it at a bike shop

I have balanced the brakes up and it requires the same force to turn the wheels when servos part applied..

it is taking around 40mtr or more to stop the car which I feel is a bit too much..
