I got it from a bike shop..its called squirt..first on the page.

not sure if halfords sell it or not.I paid £8 for it at a bike shop

I have balanced the brakes up and it requires the same force to turn the wheels when servos part applied..

it is taking around 40mtr or more to stop the car which I feel is a bit too much..

It should stop in less than 40mts. Are they std or tuning cables?

meant to be tuning cables but they are running no standard kcr disc's.

not sure if that would make much difference though..

just checked the catalogue and yes they are tuning brakes

Sperera said he has his set up perfect with no adjustment needed. Maybe PM him for tips cos I cant fathom them out either  Like you I can get them balanced but as soon as I go out the temp change seems to feck the settings up.

I wrapped string round the tyres and hung weights from them while holding the servo to brake I adjusted the travel with my tx and they both move together at the same speed so I know I had them balanced...

they just don't have the power to stop the car but they lock up and skid no problem :(

it just don't make sense to me...I have started working again so soon as my first money comes through Im ordering a layshaft brake...
lol

You got it finished yet??? lol
:w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t:

Nah mate! Been away again all weekend. Just on the dongle now & signal is shite every post takes ages to load!

Engine is in & all buttoned up but Im still not happy with the layshaft - Im convinced its warped. Will get a new 1 next wk just to be sure. Its almost finished now tho. Just need to sort electrics out and the mounts for the bug shell & away we go :w00t:

I had a problem setting up my layshaft first time round too..shaft looked straight(turns out it was ) but the gear I fitted to it had been bored out a little too big so when you tightened up the grub screw it pulled it to one side and made the gears go tight on one part of the rotation...I looked and checked the shaft alot until I eventually found it to be the gear...just thought It might be worth a look.

I'm going in the workshop today to rip the front end apart and get a good look at all the brake components also changing the screws underneath to stop them coming loose.....

Feckin typical. Just emptied out the box of tricks again that came with the marder & there was a feckin brand new layshaft at the bottom of the box. Well pissed off cos got to strip it again now. Bummer  Ah well I would rather have it spot on than just ok :p

Seeing how I will be stripping the layshaft down again, what gear do you reckon I should run on the layshaft? I got 18/46 and can go 15, 16 or 17 on the layshaft giving top speeds of 36, 38 & 41mph. The 15 will prob get the front end up & loads of wheelies :w00t: Oh its a 26.9 DDM ported head with FG tuned pipe if that helps.

typical......but lucky..just think it has saved you a few quid ...

I'm running 20/44 with 16/48 on layshaft/diff I doesn't pull wheelies on it own but does if hitting any bumps. pretty good top end too.

I'm skint so its sat broken and awaiting a couple of parts :(
wish I could find bits at the bottom of a box :lol::lol::lol:

If you look back at the 1st pics there was all sorts that came with it which is why I didnt mind the state it was in but I didnt take much notice of the shite in the bottom of the box. Just decided to sort it out & there it was - £12 new :w00t:

What do you need for it?

burst the bottom of a shock absorber
got to get me a layshaft brake..I'm not confident enough of it stopping as it is just now.
need 2 new wheel squares as mine are slipping and wont tighten up.
I also want to get some new rose joints for it to take out some slack..
other than that its ok...

Im just waiting for some money to come my way...then I will place an order
