If you look back at the 1st pics there was all sorts that came with it which is why I didnt mind the state it was in but I didnt take much notice of the shite in the bottom of the box. Just decided to sort it out & there it was - £12 new :w00t:

Put the new layshaft on and the gear mesh is perfect all the way round now - no tight spots anywhere!! Well chuffed :D Ive not had to spend much on this 1 apart from the 'nice to have' things like the tuning brake & new engine oh and consumable like bearings, shock seals & oil, screws etc. Almost there now :cool:

About time too!!!!!
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Yes I know!! Might be another few weeks yet tho before its finally finished......working for at least next 4 weekends, maybe 6 :mad:

Its a pain when work gets in the way of play..but I guess we all need to do it to get the pennies required..

Might take it with me & get an hr out after work with Andy (CSR) if he's up for it. At least I will get some run time with it :)

always worth a blast..it will be good when I get a chance to give the baja a really good blast without worrying about it stopping or breaking.:lol:

I got my other marder fully sorted like this 1 and even tho its completely std and all plastic its never let me down apart from a screw coming loose or something simple. If you keep on top of them they are very reliable so you wont have any major problems with it. My mate takes his back home after a bash & never even cleans it or checks it & it every time we go out something goes wrong with it. Last time out it was major so he hasnt been out since!

I have no doubt they are reliable..the problems I have had so far are all down to poor maintenance by the previous owner. and slight oversight on my part when rebuilding it...too much wear ..

when I finally get on top of the wear I guess it should be fairly pleasurable to own.

:w00t::w00t:

So here is an update of what it was like & what it is now......oh and my other 'perfect' marder as well :D

As it was........

Ive done the mod to add an extra post to the std radio tray to eliminate the flex under braking. Its solid now :D I used an M6x50 c/sk screw with nuts & penny washers & drilled 6.5mm holes through the tray & the chassis. Underside of the chassis is countersunk to suit the screw head and give a flat finish. A bit of blue loctite on the nuts to stop them vibrating loose & jobs a gud un :w00t:
Time = 5 mins!

love the little radio tray cover, i don't run a body anymore and that would be good to keep some of the crap off it, nice work!

Cheers Sper! Im going to make 1 for the other marder out of a tub or something although the missus bought a packet of ham the other day and the plastic tray that it came in looks about perfect to use as a radio tray cover :w00t:

LOL...My wife was cutting stuff she wanted and asked if I had anything to fill up the wasted space...nope so decided on dwarfy.

Do they look ok to you?

I thought the black would suit the white beetle shell..
