Hi Vass.
+1 this reply I think.
Multiple copies 'for a profit' would require permission from Aston Martin.

As mentioned above, you could call it as an Artin Maston or something, as our friends from the Far East do I suppose.
My lad rides around on a 6V F430 replica, simply with no Ferrari badges. I was going to get some, until I saw he liked removing stickers and badges, and Ferrari ones cost a fortune .... !!

Keep up the good work - we're all keen to see the finished article.

why would you get aston martin involved not only would aston not care about hes talent they would probably take legal action cause vass will be making a profit from there design/trademark without there approval.......

Because I thought they would like to see a true engineer at work. I would be flattered if someone put this amount of time ,skill and effort into some thing I had produced.
Who said he was going to copy them??? Vass does one off's if you read through other threads on the products he has built.

Thanks for all the negative comments boys.

James, there's nothing negative in being realistic, particularly in this age ruled by bean counters.
I'm pretty damned certain there are still some real enthusiasts at Aston Martin who will be over-the-moon to see such amazing work from an 'amateur modelling enthusiast' such as Vass.

I personally am one of his biggest fans, but we all have to take a little care in today's corporate markets ruled, or should I say OVER-influenced by blasted bean counters!!

Hey voo im sure you thought you were doing the right thing and we all would like to see vass do well with his project and recieve the credit he deserves but the bottom line aston martin don't really care, all they interested in is protecting there famous brand/trademark and designs and i don't really blame them from doing so....... ps vass you do great work keep it up

I wanted to stay away from this topic. But it was stated over and over that this was simply a "project".

However, in post #24, it was stated someone was going to buy a body. Just want to to make sure everyone understands how someone coming to this thread (from AM) could take this as a project for profit off their product.

Vass,

How are you making your sections? Machining or taking dimensions straight from the car?

Reason I ask is I have several 3D models of cars and I want to section them off and build a mould for forming one day. With my machine I will have to do a lot of sections to produce the final.. I don't have the talent you do at finishing in clay:) Looks good.

I can use only paper and pencil to take dimensions from car.
3D models are 'strange trick' for an old dog, like me.

The base for all this is the geometric place ( i don't know if it the correct word ). Nothing else.

The person who asked to buy the mold, maybe will not use it as AM.
Maybe you could see another car, with different lights and mask.
Vass

Until we have an answer from Aston Martin.....

From me you could hear only the sound of silence .

I have only one question about the body.
The problem is the name or the form ?

Vass

I think this is getting way out of hand!!
We're talking about the fantastic work of one single person, not a factory somewhere in China employing 1500 people!!

I don't believe there is ANY problem.

Look at the 1:1 AC Cobra kits, perhaps called something else, but they're IDENTICAL, and 100's are made and built and put on the public road for every man and his dog to see!!

Stick to it Vass.
Call it a Panther Scorpion or something if you have to, but I don't see why?

Remember that FANTASTIC Ferrari built by the French guy, with WORKING V12 engine, gearbox, plugs, and manual transmission.

I don't believe Vass can get this far (if you can PLEASE DO!!).
