Cheers for the heads up ill try & source myself some new bolts. Watching the TR installation vid for the tranny plate he states you have to file something down did you come across this fitting yours?

Nah no problems fitting mine, but yes i know what you talking about

i've still not recieved my parts i think its down to all this terrble rioting in England delaying the postal service:( as soon as there fitted i'll get some pics up

i had to replace a bolt here and there on mine as well, the quality of bolts used arent that good in certain spots at least. stress ones, need better bolts for sure.

My parts came today & there all fitted but i'm still not happy the mesh, it just feels tight & notchy to me so im lost now as this is half the assembly i've replaced.

Also i wasn't sure on the provided screws for the tranny plate, I have 5 in total 2 slightly shorter which im guessing are for the rear I've used them & they've popped out through the plastic of bottom of the plastic mount, then 3 the same with the top portion being not threaded I'm guessing these are for the x1 front & 2 for the rear break plate, i've watched his tutorials which threw me abit cause he uses different ones & I don't want to thread anything.

That mesh is definitely too tight from what I can tell. Can't you loosen up the motor and top plate and reset the mesh a tad looser?

Ill try this cheers, i just can't seem to get any play in anything, I was hoping with the new tranny plate & clutch system would solve it but its exactly the same so I haven't a clue now.

right i've just removed all engine mounts, loosened the tranny plate removed gear plate & brake assembly & started again but the mesh just keeps aligning to tight:( its driving me nuts now, i've double checked the spur & pinion are the same ratio 57 to 17.

Maybe the engine is out of square loosen engine bolts adjust and tighten it only needs to move 1mm or less if this don't work buy a smaller drive gear and be done with the problem :)

I've completely removed the engine now & ill examine the rear end, i can't see what else i can alter on the rear everything's counter sunk, ive now eliminated the clutch bell tranny plate & gear plate, its very frustrating its probably something daft i've missed, ill try moving the engine abit but its hard to keep the engine braces lined up at the same time

take you time hope you get to the bottom of the problem and as i said if it don't fix it i recommend that you buy a smaller tr drive gear

Hi Guys the latest is i removed the transmission & reseated it & reassembled everything making sure the engine is square but its exactly the same, my mates coming around tomorrow with his Hpi so im going to examine it see if i cant see anything, if not as you say the smaller drive gear seems my only option, i'll try & upload a video of it as it stands. cheers

My mate came round today & we compared the buggys even measured mounting holes & all seems to be the same, I gave it a short run & its able to pull off now without straining so hopefully it will bed in as i'm still on its first tank, it still sounds like its binding quite abit & my friends is smooth & quiet but obviously his has been well run in.

Hi mate, no i've still not sorted it to my liking:( i took it out today to test & run in but it was making quite a noticeable whirling noise it doesn't seem to be coming from the brakes, it was also bogging down under medium throttle i shall check the adjustments make sure there to the factory settings, one thing i noticed was my mates diff was silky smooth & mine i wouldn't say mine was tight but wasn't nowhere near as loose & smooth so im wondering if theres oil/greese at all in the diff/transmission as they didnt put any in the rear shocks either. heres a video please let me know if you can view it alright

yeah probably a good idea to to check for diff oil and grease transmision gears

the whirling noise probably from the clutch straining because of the tight mesh of the spur and drive gears

In that video it looked like it rolled pretty easily when not on throttle. If it rolls with ease with no throttle input I say run it.
