....... on your Large Scale Rides ..... I take it?

Otherwise it's nearly that each time anyone in UK tops up with fuel in their car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Or the wife goes shopping for clothes!!):D:D

Al.

On large scale

Giva an idea of what you've bought too.....

This season

10 race meetings approx £150 per meeting just in fuel, race fees, food & beer.

Bought about 25 pairs of wheels & tires (only because it's my first season back racing after a 2 year break)

Car, servos, spares, tranny and other racing bits £3500 ish

We have a winter series going on this year between the nook raceway and Notts & Derby off road club which is over 9 rounds - thats 1300 miles for me just in travelling if I do them all.

In just large scale I only have one vehicle but in up grades, spare parts, extra motors, special tools and so on I have about $5,500. Being there are not any hobby shops with in 100 miles of me and then that one does not carry large scale parts I have all most enough to build another 5b in spare parts.

Some years ago before I sold some of my small scale stuff I started figuring what I had in all my RC stuff and quite counting at about $30,000. Do to my situation I have been selling a lot of my small scale stuff and helicopters. Just hope it does not come to having to sell my large scale stuff.

ive been into this hobby for 9 and half months, in that time ive spent around £1000 on horman inc spares etc) £1000

£350 buying marder, easily another 350 on bits,loads wheels,,carbs,jetpro, etc,etc,etc, inc breakages £ 700

£400 fg monster, 150 spares bits £550

fg tourer £300 maybe only £100 on this car £400

km baja "£220 (GOT IT CHEAP) £80 in bits £300

futaba 4pk, 2 race engines , new tonegawa servo £750

guesstimate total of around £ 3700. im sure ill think of other things, if petrol is inc in running up aznd down the country to collect certain items and popping to watch the boys(inc mike 1970) race , going to bahes out of nottm, then a bit more.. wow i think i need to findmyself a hobby

thats off the top of my head, hope next year chills abit, but i did sell my fgtourer/km so got £450 bk for them.

oh forgot about the hyper 7, with £200 os .30 race engine so i guess around £ 4000 in under 10 months!

ALL MY CARS ARE IN MY ALBUM AND ON MY UTUBE CHANNEL( I CAN SEE THIS THREAD GETTING WILD, NO MADE UP BUGGYS OR MONEY SPENT! WHILE DREAMING LOL)

From a racing point of veiw, yes I spent a 5hite load but next year it'll be a tiny fraction of this years spend.

I was asked the other day what was the best way to get into racing and how much will it cost. I told the guy, how long is a bit of string. I suggested he gets himself an FTX punisher and race that out of the box - £600 or so and he'd have everything he needed.
Some consider the 4wd class as a "poor relation" but it's not in any way, yes the cars are a lot less in most cases and you don't need to carry 20 or 30 pairs of tires but you still need the skill and know how to get it going round at a good pace.

@ Hyper78 yes I did have a 5hite raceday at notts lol

Thing is, you put fuel in and run yours, and risk breaking it, needing to repair it, so in the long run, Keith's will cost the same as yours!! :D:o:D:lol::lol::D:o:D
