oh, i thought you was right on the pace!, if thats what you call a bad day then id like to see what a good day is like! the standard was high!From a racing point of veiw, yes I spent a 5hite load but next year it'll be a tiny fraction of this years spend.
I was asked the other day what was the best way to get into racing and how much will it cost. I told the guy, how long is a bit of string. I suggested he gets himself an FTX punisher and race that out of the box - £600 or so and he'd have everything he needed.
Some consider the 4wd class as a "poor relation" but it's not in any way, yes the cars are a lot less in most cases and you don't need to carry 20 or 30 pairs of tires but you still need the skill and know how to get it going round at a good pace.

£450 on 1st marder in mint std condition - only a couple of tanks thru it (4yr ago)
£50 - tuning cable brakes
£25 - x-can exhaust (yes I like it)
£10 - KCR rear balloon springs
£10 - front anti roll bar set
£30 - layshaft tuning brake
£200 on marder project car - now a Beetle
£25 - beetle shell
£30 - layshaft tuning brake
£95 - 26.9 CY with DDM ported head kit
£24 - full set of screw, nuts, bolts, washers etc
£10 - full set of bearings
£80 - Code Core RC 3ch 2.4ghz stick set
£24 - additional receiver for above

........and I got a 23cc zen, an FG tuned pipe, poop load of spares, various ally & plastic parts, spare wheels & tyres (on & off road sets) and more all included in the £200 project car price :cup-1:![]()
