Lately I have been kicking around the idea of getting a Losi 5th scale. I would do mostly on-road speed. Itseems to me that the differentials and axles are very strong for 8s to 12s usage. Am I wrong?

What is the key difference between the models (considering I'll run electric) which has stronger driveline parts? Or are they all basically the same. The DBXL-e seems like and ideal chassis to start with for price and already electric, but wondering if there is some benefit of using the 5ive B or 5ive T model?

Thanks in advance for any input!

Looks like the ZTW 12s ESC. I heard they are hit or miss on reliablility. All the flier and alien 12s ESCs seem to be un-reliable also.
MGM is probably the only good option, but the price is nearly as much as my RC.

The problem with a relay is varying the voltage to the motor. Normally a relay is just an open and closed deal. Maby some one make a variable out put relay. But let's be real 200 amp relay is rather big. Like bigger than the motor in the car... would interesting to know if anyone offered some sort of fix for an issue like this for sure.

Yeah the varying part would definitely be the issue.

This 100X over, If you plan on running anything over 8s go MGM, Its more at the start but It will save you money In the long run. I have a MGM In my DBXL-E and It's awesome and going strong for over a year. I recently purchased a 300a ZTW beast pro for my brushless hpi 5
T and It was trash right out of the box. In the process now saving up for another MGM. As for the FID Voltz It's good but If you want a DBXL-E FID as well as Vertigo and others make Hops for It and you can get The DBXL-E reliable.

My issue with MGM is the size! I wish the layout was longer rather than being a tall qube. Not saying it won't fit the 1/5 chassis.... more in relation to my 1/8 - 1/10 builds.
