I think it came out quiet nice very pleased? the caustic soda is quite hectic lots of fumes? I used 3 table spoons in 1L cold water. The only parts I did not do where the shock bits coz did not feel like doing it? hpi shocks are a ball ache????

Looks good!

I used greased lightening to do my de-anodizing.. no fumes

Wonder how cuastic soda compares to oven cleaner? oven cleaner sucks ass and if you leave it on for too long it burns the alu, I left it on for like 2mins and it still Burt the alu.
i was quite careful watched very closely(y) im sure it would have been bad just left. what i did was agitate the water so i could see how fast it was working , when i could see it was off i took out the part. some got another 1min or so to get all the orange off (y)

Why do a lot of people de-anodize their parts? The Anodizing is a hard coating on the part so that is won't corrode. Aluminum's version of rust . At work all of our aluminum parts are Treated with Iridite(Clear or Yellow) or Anodized to protect the parts. As mentioned you should clear coat the parts to protect them is you're going to de-anodize them.

peeps de-anodize because they don't like the color and want it raw (ie doug ) or want to strip the coating to put a new one on

The orange sux! And it's all temporary I want to replace with upgraded parts??plus I did not leave the parts in so long as to take the shine off the alloy so don't stress??????? sure it will be fine??
