I have had good experience with the Redcat Rampage and the HPI Baja. (both stock and modded)
Thinking about a Kraken or a MCD to have something different.
Would like to know pros and cons of this car.
Any input is welcomed.
Thanks

I wouldnt get a kraken if you can get a mcd, mcd is superior in ever aspect, handling, quality, design, ect. Kraken is ok from what I hear, needs some love to be perfect but mcd is great right off the bat

??
It depends on which kraken? the tt has had some upgrades?? so it's a better car than the kraken lsc v.1. You can also fit a bigger motor right if the bat?? may still need some love but it has improved Mcd depending on which model rtr , factory team, or ultimate. The ultimate costs a bundle ? but no upgrades needed . Mcd can only take a 30.5 without mods any bigger and you will need to mod the car or crank case

If I were racing on a prepared, AstroTurf or clay track, with gentle jumps, I'd get an MCD, but for anything else I wouldn't. The local off road 5th scale grass track was described as too rough by the predominantly MCD owning club from the next county over, yet a 5ive will go round it all day without issue. A Vekta won't though, something will break on it.

I have been happy with our Kraken over the last 3 years but I don't bash it. I only race it on a track against another Kraken. It is too heavy to be a good basher & hard on parts because it is so heavy, it is harder to work on then it needs to be, & there is not much in aftermarket. The best 1/5 scale gas burner on the market is the Losi 5T. It is built like a tank, handles like a race truck, easy to work on, & lots of aftermarket support. We have six 1/5 scale gas burners but have never had a MCD so I can not speak on it. If you are racing on a track with other Kraken's get a Kraken but if you want to bash or keep up with or beat other 1/5 scales get a Losi.

Thanks for the replies guys….
Glad to see this forum active.....

I like cars that can accelerate but also turn and brake well.
I like the MCD and the Losi 5ve. But I think this Losi is discontinued...
