Just hit DDM for a couple more of these. John Botajell tells us in his newest video that these might be getting discontinued. He also touches on the point that alot of the rad things we need to run gas and nitro are being discontinued.
I believe him and feel this is quite alarming, I really do feel that the majority of our hobby suppliers want all of us to quit fuel and run electric cars. Now, I realize that this is a Large scale forum not exclusive to gas and that there are large electric models out there and I don't want to rain on that.
I recently ran a nitro car along with an electric 1/5 scale buggy that showed up at one of my spots and had a good jam.
Maybe certain supplies are going away because we need more of a market. I know this is kind of an exclusive niche and making parts costs alot.
I'm going to try to support as much as possible and constantly have poop arriving from DDM and A Main for nitro stuff. I feel that's all we can do really is support the market.
I think it's important to show people the hobby and let them see our cars run. This is how others join! My goal this weekend is to get at least one curious on looker by running at a park and tell them how to get started. I have to say that people seem skeptical to run nitro or gas for whatever reason and my goal is to try to break that barrier down. I think this goes beyond cost and learning curve and all that. People have some money and can learn anything now. What the hell makes everyone so nervous around motors?

Which video are you talking about? Cuz if I think I Kno what your talking about, that was a while ago and that was just a rumor and he confirmed it to be false. what makes people so nervous with engines is that most probably think they are sooo complicated and only someone who knows exactly what they are doing could work with em, or something along those lines which is very false esp with 2 smokers.we need to show peeps that it's really not that hard or complicated. Also they think they are so finicky which they really arent

Yes, I think I was watching his new one and then that ended and an older one qued up and started automatically! Damn man, sorry for the misinformation on that! But maybe I hadn't seen that one and it seemed new to me! Lol. I made a DDM order right after the video! Oh well, never can have too much DDM stuff! But it really got me thinking that people do seem scared to get near these cars and scream and run poop and go crazy! Your right Z, dude, these are easy to learn and run and maintain. I'm still so surprised when I go out and people roll up to have a look and have never seen a 1/5 scale gas model! Man, we got to spread the gas gospel!

Yep 2 strokes are really not hard, especially with off the shelf stuff. Only thing that scares me still (not trying to sound like a badass ?) is the complicated exhuasts. But again, not a concern with off the shelf stuff! Really not hard at all, when you get the tuning down, and just generally know some basic info about em your pretty much good to go

? no that would really suck? what people are put off by is hands on ? also they want instant gratification ....short attention spans?
Man, people do want instant gratification. I also think our cars are seen as toys and not a lifestyle to be thankful for from all the hard work. It takes alot to rack up for a run as we all know. Maybe it's that racking up and preparing process is what keeps some potential converts away. This does take time and dedication and that in itself is quite a commodity. With everything being smart and electric nowadays, it seems like doing something without those elements would seem fun and exciting!
Just that first hurdle of forking out minimum $350/400 then you get hooked?????
It is like drugs dude, we do get hooked. Dee-zam

Absolutely dude, It's basic stuff to have a basic fun run. Hopefully I can have one this weekend!

Part of the problem also is they are making small weedwacker type engines illegal to run within different towns and cities places. I'm seeing more and more places that you are not allowed to run engines and have to run electric tools. The environmentalists are saying "air pollution and noise as the biggest factors. It does greatly affect our hobby with the push for electric only. I've heard people say would love to try but they can't run gas engines where they live. Look at the landscaping industry a lot of them have tiny windows on certain days to work and now many places ban their gas engines. So they've had to buy electric powered tools.
I don't hate "E-words" but to me they are missing their soul,so to speak.
I really don't like the high pitched Eeeee whine sound. Engines have a visceral effects on you, sometimes the sound can be annoying to others but for us Brap brothers,it's beautiful.
