Alright, so many of you know I have a dbxl with the stock cy23 engine. Installed a 29cc big bore kit last week. Ran a tank and almost 7/8s thru it. Easy too. Nothing crazy. Well it died like seized mid tank on the back end of of the 2nd tank. Have super deep gouges in piston on the intake side. Stuff happens, I'm not upset. It's first one I built. However, what happened and why? I can't get the piston to even separate from the head

What options do I have? Is my +2mm stuffed crank usable on a different motor? Or should I just start shopping long blocks?

Thanks

I happen to think a wrist pin c clip flew out. Cuz goddamn those are some deep gouges
Idk if the crank is reusable, you have to inspect it. Is just get a g320 longblock but that's me

Yes I'm fully aware they're deep. Any idea if or how I can separate the two or they just toast?
Idk, smack the poop out of it from the bottom of the head with a hammer and screwdriver or pry it apart ? probably not gunna be good for anything but if you want it apart you gotta do what you gotta do ?

It wasn't a mix issue by any means. I run 28:1 and this current gallon is a bit heavy. This was on the back end of almost 2 full (dgi "oversize") tanks
poop happens. What motor should I shop for...I've got clutch, carrier, housing carb etc..everything lol

So all I can save is crankshaft as far as I can tell. Correct?
Case, is fine, bearings and crank might be okay, top end is done for sure.
Plug is flawless. Everything is new aside from crankcase. Plug has than 3 hours run on it. And frankly can't even tell lol

It's do-able...32cc? As long as my flywheel, clutch and carrier starter shorud etc fits I'm game
Pretty sure your clutch Carrier and plastic Shroud won't fit but idk on a 32cc. Under 32 everything will fit for sure

There ya have it, sounds like a plan.
If it makes you feel any better. I decided to get my 450 trex out and fly a bit tonight.... kinda forgot how to land and er smashed the crap outta the landing gear.(this is also normal I suck at flying)

Oh no, don't get me wrong I'm not even upset. It happens. I've made it very clear I'm new to 1/5 scale. I do have a 20+ year background in RC... I also do commercial HVAC for work so I like to think I'm hands on. However no hi-rise cranes involved in RC lol
Piston and head are trash...crank seems fine.

Is both the cir clips still in the piston?
