Ya well no one ever accused me of being the brightest crayon in the box for sure and I can almost promise u unless it’s something that’s a matter of opinion I’ll never argue especially because I’ve been proven wrong before and certainly gonna happen again?

Lol, I wont tell you anything I can back up mate, nor would any other of the guys. Welcome to school. Were all learning ??

Right on...I’m old so I learned about having humility a very long time ago but I also never warned ya about the label on my forehead which reads “careful sensitivite”?

I have a crappy Rovan pipe on my stock Losi 5ive T 2.0. I just posted my first YouTube video. Check it out running. Been using all the original servo's and 31.8 cc Zen G320rc. Had it a year now a very strong for stock. Youtube. (wingman777)

You need back pressure into the engine.
No you don't. You need exhaust PULSES (NOT pressure) for both 2 and 4 stroke engines to run at their best efficiencies.

I agree about the back pressure..and I’ve always been under the assumption that for 2 strokes the pipe is crucial to tuning the torque range hi/low end and the fatter the pipe from about mid pipe is better low end...had my first born racing mx at 4 yrs old...spent every weekend from one end of Illinois to the other racing...he’s 26 now...long time ago...anyway my point was I’m pretty familiar with 2 strokes and even did top end rebuild between moto’s and that’s where I got that intell..btw I have that same Rovan pipe and I’m definitely curious how it’d perform against those expensive ones
Wow I understand MX, Here is a picture from 1974. One of the first 2 stroke 49 cc Honda dirt bikes. OMG I have always road dirt bikes. I was 8 turning 9 years old in this picture. along time ago lol Sent you a picture of a rovan I built 45cc Got rid of my rovans because it was taking up to much of my time on the bench. The 5ive t 2.0 I just left stock except the rovan pipe I purchased to keep the exhaust oil off the side of my body. Bart, and Victory pipes were out of stock at the time. I paid 100.00 dollars for the Rovan pipe. On my 5ive B I'm building I purchased a Victory Pipe to go with the OBR Engine I'm having built. Been in this Hobby for 42 years and I have loved and watched it grow. I fly 1/7 scale Gas planes, Used to race HPI RS4 CARS, Mugen buggys. I fly Helicopters Nitro and electric and in the past 5 years had really enjoyed FPV drones. The 1/5 scale just added to my addiction,, I want to see 1/5 scale grow. I also love and am addicted to watching what guys do to there rigs on youtube lol. I know by the way you talk you are a very good guy. I don't do youtube much but I posted a Video of my 5IVE T Running at the park if you want to watch it. Search (wingman777) OMG only video I posted I don't even have 1 subscriber Lmao check it out. Beware I'm not video pro. Keep in touch Donnie

So that ia what it is called now pulses. Check your pulse on your wrist.

Feel the back pressure. Lol
Eh pressure isn't technically what I would call it but heck it's the best way to describe it. Essentially its an ultrasonic boom that returns when the piston closes. It causes the blown out fuel and unspent air to return to the cylinder however its not the gasses. Backpressure is the only way I guess it could be explained.

so where do the pulses origin come from. Pulses of back pressure caused by the pipe size and tuning.

You could think of it as vibrations in the air. Pressure is expelled but vibrations return is how id explain it. If anything there would be a vaccume out of the exhaust when it starts to close but that sonic boom return causes the unspent fuel and gasses to return.

It's a sound wave generator. yes were dealing with pressure and negative pressure, but by using the cones we can focus in the frequencies that give us the best pulses for a specific rpm range. "Back pressure" isnt really a term that applies here back pressure implies that it's a constant, which is not conductive to good engine performance, ie a permanent restriction holds back flow, which we don't want in any good engine set up, expansion chambers (tuned exhaust) take advantage of both pressure waves to get the best performance out of an engine, which is especially useful in a 2 stroke engine.

And yes, You have a great way to explain this. You are 100% correct. Very well said. I have been in the Rc hobby for 43 years and I still learn from other guys. If I knew everything which I don't, I would lose Interest in this Hobby and it would be boring. lol I may know more than some people but always willing to learn and grow. :)
