The shocks on my Baja are so stiff and I am looking for some softer springs. Does anyone know where to get some? I don't race my Baja I just use it for bashing so I don't care about handling.

Ok thanks I will see if they have them.DDM your best bet![]()
if its a Rovan None LolFirst I've heard the stock springs are too stiff. What shock fluid your running?
I would be concerned about the seals deteriorating.I use hydraulic fluid NO idea what weight it is ( actually I didnt have any shock fluid at the time, gonna replace it BUT it worked pretty damn good, I really did'nt notice any difference )
Hydralic fluid leaked through my seals. My front shocks are pretty stiff too. Im using 35wt fluid so I'm thinking about finding new springs myself.I use hydraulic fluid NO idea what weight it is ( actually I didnt have any shock fluid at the time, gonna replace it BUT it worked pretty damn good, I really did'nt notice any difference )
why they are both hydraulic systems ! hell this oil takes 50 tons !!! besides a cylinder has rubber o-rings in them I doubt the shocks use some exotic materials in the seals .I would be concerned about the seals deteriorating.
Then you probably have a blown seal or a bad shaft !Hydralic fluid leaked through my seals. My front shocks are pretty stiff too. Im using 35wt fluid so I'm thinking about finding new springs myself.
hydraulic fluid is mineral oil, the seals are meant for silicone oil.why they are both hydraulic systems ! hell this oil takes 50 tons !!! besides a cylinder has rubber o-rings in them I doubt the shocks use some exotic materials in the seals .

Replaced so ill never know. However the rebuilt stocks are still stiff.why they are both hydraulic systems ! hell this oil takes 50 tons !!! besides a cylinder has rubber o-rings in them I doubt the shocks use some exotic materials in the seals .

Well were not running the 24 hours of Sebring so I don't think it will be an issue , might be over thinking this a bit , I just looked up Silicone vs Mineral oils and not much difference vs a Nitrile seal.hydraulic fluid is mineral oil, the seals are meant for silicone oil.
the stock hpi seals r ment for petroleum based oils?..this is y u should fit new seals when using whatever wt normal oil ?hydraulic fluid is mineral oil, the seals are meant for silicone oil.
I believe that's been disproven but I could be wrong.the stock hpi seals r ment for petroleum based oils?..this is y u should fit new seals when using whatever wt normal oil ?
where are the compression nuts set at ?? Mine were at about .5" from the top of the threads , I needed more ground clearance so I tightened them to about 1.25" this made it much stiffer , once you go past the max lift you get into pre-load and they will get stiffer. The shocks on my Baja are so stiff and I am looking for some softer springs. Does anyone know where to get some? I don't race my Baja I just use it for bashing so I don't care about handling.
