So what do you have to do to make a truck 2speed? What does it do give it more top end right?

In the middle of sticking a 2-speed on my MT, but with the 46/44 gearing the 1st gear pinion doesn't go on the clutch bell far enough, so I can't get the circlip on...the small steel pinion isn't milled out like the larger one.
I have the lower 42/40 setup on my MacF1 and this is fine as the larger pinions are milled out.
Anyone else have this issue, I'm thinking of milling the pinion down to give me a little more clearance....
mines the same about 1mm out, there's a wide and narrow 16t gear, the circlip fits with the skinny one but you have to shim the spurs and shift clutch to line the narrow gear to middle of the spur...I have both but use the wide one and leave off the clip..just blue loctite the grubs down tight...no problems as yet with the gear coming off.
yup kinda why i did the same as u [ shaved the end down a little so i could still use the retaining clip ]I've shaved the gears down slightly so can squeeze the circlip on now.![]()
Unfortunately when the gear does manage to come off you will probably lose it....
