Just sand the poop out of it going from course to fine papers and then polish it, blue the welds if you can find someone else with a torch (wouldnt trust you anywhere near a torch) and done. And don't be a lazy fiddlestick and oil it after every run next time. FFS

You need to remove a light layer of the steel junkie. Your using abrasives that aren't as aggressive you need if you still see the blue and that means you just polished it and didn't remove material like you need to

couldnt get the 0000 steel wool today bc of weather, and the only sandpaper i have is 150

It's a piece of fekking steel the only way your going to ruin it is drop it in salt water, blow a hole in it, or put a massive dent in it but even then you can probably get it fixed.
This is a piece of cake.

The bluing you see is from heat penetration into the steel surrounding the weld. You meaning yourself can't really replicate that properly.

Clean it all off and let the engine put the color back in the pipe. You will permanently lose the color around the welds tho....
Or at this point send it out to get coated
