i am going to buy an o neills head kit for my zenoah g260,they have great prices right now and i have been in contact with sean o neill and the one i have chosen is the 30.5cc race ported and machined head kit, comes with 2mm stuffed stroker and plug. AWESOME!
cost +shipping 169dollars/128 euro

thats a great price seems as exchange rate is so good at the moment.
i reckon this unit will have awesome power, especially after oneills.

but if it was you buying, which kit for the 26cc zenoah would you buy?

That's the head kit I would chose..Add a 813 carb...more than enough torque and power
I have also talked too Sean number of times....Although I am not a big fan of stuffed cranks...Thay have been known to fly apart.....Other wise good pick..AKASlawhammer

thanks slawhammer,u are always very good with the advice.

i remember you replied to me about exhaust bolts and you suggested drilling them, great idea by the way, although i didnt do it yet.lol

anyway i wonder is it easy to build this kit,i have fitted heads and pistons alone,i suppose the crank would be easy enough to fit also?

oh right why not the crank??
sure i don't have to fit it..i suppose i may have not a choice if the head kit needs the 2mm crank.

yeah i always have exhaust coming loose, pain in the butt

When I talked too Sean @ O'Neil Brothers about that head kit..He said a lot internal milling and grinding is done...The 30.5 std head is not ported to milled..40$ difference..
For the 40$ buxs..and no screw ups from me trying to grind it..I will pay the $40 buxs..
To my understanding they mill the top of the inside cylinder to get the correct squish..
change the transfer ports and grind out intake & exhaust....That's the difference the $40 buxs buys ya....AKASlawhammer

wired

dc2: you can go with the 28.5 ported head kit..you don't need a 2mm stroker crank...
that's how you get a 30.5 use a 28.5 head and add 2 mm stroker crank....

Kaz: drill holes in the cap screws for yourexhaust bolt..then safty wire them..they won't come loose again.....AKASlawhammer

My preference is the 28.5 kit as it revs higher but still has loads of torque, I've a reed ported and race ported from Sean, both motors with stuffed cranks...very happy with them. I've had the reed motor for a year now and the crank has given no problems...had to get a new top end cos i forgot to oil my filter once in dust and that was the end of it, doesn't take much dust to kill a top end.

so (slawhammer) are you saying the 30.5cc kit is not ported?
crap,i taught it was,the one i picked out anyway seemed to say race ported kit!

do i need to pay an extra 40$ or what on it to get the ported version?

Ok..you miss understood what I was saying....Yes the 30.5 Race ported with stuffed crank is good to go..Like from your 1st post...That kit has every thing you need.....The one you picked out is fine...

What I was trying to say is how they make a 28.5 head in to a 30.5 head...
sorry for the confussion.....AKASlawhammer

oh i get you now slawhammer.
so would it be much more power over the standard zen 26cc motor?

oneills engines just reek of excitment anyway....

Like Night and Day difference....Get a good exhaust pipe...even more power...
I use DDM Rear DOM torque pipe...awsome low /mid range .. loose a little on top end..
with that pipe... DDM claims 25% more power....I have a 29CC engine and do wheelie's
on demand ..any time...I am thinking of that very same head kit my self.....30.5 race ported..& 813 carb...I already have the 2mm crank in the 29CC..AKASlawhammer engine...

I already have the 30mm crank.

What was the secret for the exhaust bolts? Mine come loose also...

Some use red locktight tighten them up and let them sit overnight, some use lock washers, but I make sure to use a torque wrench and torque them to the right specs. The nut will actually make a dent or mark int he pipe you use when torqued to the right spec. Then use some sealant to hold them from vibrating loose. Like ZAP II sealant.

You know I didn't care for my 813 carb...seems like I could never get it tuned.

Some can never get them to tune and others swear by them. I think its a motor match thing?

The head kit in the origional post is going to be a great kit! Keep us posted.
Tearing a motor down past the head kit is just as easy as getting a head kit on. Make sure to buy a new set of case bearings too.

yep the power difference is huge with a pipe, i got a jetpro at the mo with the reed ported 28.5 and 813 carb on my fgbaja...awesome combo...just waiting for the RN 6004 fatpower S to become available again then i should be able to break the earths gravity and head to the moon:clap:
Kaz, the 813 likes tiny, tiny adjustments on the L needle once you get it right you'll never go back..I've just ordered another for my 28.5 race ported rampage ..they're the dogs bollocks for eliminating low end bog on ported motors, never tried one on a stock motor though maybe as btb says depends on what motor you stick them on...ported motors seem to like them big time

what do you think of oneills head kits btb?
i am sending payment as of this morning anyway, any of you lads deal with oneills before, what way are they?
of course posting to republic of ireland could take forever!

well, i was going to avoid this thread. but out of good concience i cant.

Ok yes the motors run decent. sure they arnt that expensive. i have never owned a OBros. BUT i have had experience with about 4 or 5 of their motors here in Michigan others bought. all i can say is for the money that was saved, the guys here that bought OBros motors are now buying and running ESP motors.
