Hey there! I took my Losi 5ive T 2.0 out for the first time after the break in tank. In both instances, my engine died before (not long before...but before) I ran out of gas. As such, two questions: 1) Is this normal? I got lucky and didn't have to try to carry the beast back to my car. 2) Are there better tanks/systems that will scavenge all (or almost all) of the gas in the tank before dying? Thank you!

With a std clunk you won't suck the tank bone dry, nor would you really want to as it will make the engine run lean. But for the poirpoae of your question, a winged clunk will pretty much suck the tank dry.
But isn’t running out of gas running out of gas? Whether the supplied clunk runs out at 1/8 tank or the winged clunk runs out at an empty tank. Your still going to have a lean condition for a few seconds. Only way to avoid this is to shut the engine down prior to running out of gas, correct?

Look at your clunk in the tank, some of them come to long and are up the sidewall on the tank. It's hest to have them towards the back of the tank, but completely flat on the bottom.

As stated you'll never get all the fuel, but most of mine I can suck dam near dry. It's rare I get that chance to run that long as I usually break something lol

i'll add as above, just don't run it dry,
all ya need to do is check every so often, you will have a rough idea to how long a tank lasts,
the tanks are clear/opaque for a reason, just drive by yerself and look every now and then, when its getting low fill it up (y)

Yes, out of gas is out of gas. I don't advocate to ever run out of gas, and I typically shut down before thats an issue anyway. but i did have issues with the std clunk and the tank still having quite a bit of fuel in it in the dbxl. I'm 80% sure it was that stupid stiff ddm fuel line that wouldn't let the clunk move around properly, but changed out for stihl fuel line and a winged clunk. End of problem. I think they help with fuel sloshing around the tanks as well, don't have to just depend on the clunk traveling with the fuel with the winged clunk.

Yeah I used the winged type on all of my tanks. It actually come standard on MCD models.
