No offense but how much easier do you want the pullstart to be? Unless your old or its in a boat it is really not necessary.
well i am old 78 and just got out of the hospital thursday from haveing my thyroid removed.
a easy pull starter would be just what i need.
i bought one of mike taylor ez pull starter ab
nd my buddy said it
made pulling the engine over to start it so much better.
thx mike.

Roto start may be an issue tho with a 5ive-t just due to the location of the pullstart, a marine pull start is out of the question as it has no ventilation holes and is a smaller diameter. I think your only choice is a taylor rc or turtle racing easy start.

I'm gonna regret saying this as I'll have a pull start break tomorrow on a saw.... to date I have never broken a pull start. Pull start cord, yeah who hasn't. The actual pull start never.
I can feel it I just jinxed myself.....
Me either and I have saws with and without the easy start type starters. The Stihl MS201CE being the strangest feeling of any I've used. The Echo version feels more normal. The 30% reduced effort version anyway.

I'm interested in one because I've had 5 neck surgeries and a shoulder surgery. A decomp on a saw is my friend.

The spring assist lazy starts in saws seem hit and miss. The ms250 immediately comes to mind. It's great when it works but is an expensive pos when, not if, it breaks. The few options for rc are largely the same. Workswell when it does, but not worth a hoot when it breaks.

I definitely dislike the feel of the Stihl version.

I've stayed far far away from stihls lazy start just from working on others saws. I do like the elestostart handles. Wouldn't swap out a function normal starter for one, but they are nice.
My XS ported MS241 has the elasto handle. I sold the 201. Kevin ported it as well but after getting the 241 it sat on a shelf. Sawmakazi out of PA bought it for his tree service.

I use a Rovan 36cc unit and it starts very quickly with a real hand pull. It's about the same as the Zenoah motor. The EZ start system doesn't give me a good impression and I probably won't ever need it.
