Hey all just wondering I got told that they are making fuel RC's illegal (I'm in Australia) in the near future and phasing them out soon anyone else hear this? eg: Losi DBXL-2.0 & 5ive-t 2.0 are the last models Losi will make in Fuel? Cheers

i'm sure someone on here said this last year sometime mate,
cant see em phasing em out tbh, how would they police it?
people will still build petrol/gas powered rc's with after market engines i'd say,
plus the after market engine builders would surely have something to say about a complete ban,
i know the worlds going electric crazy with everything now, but nah, cant see it happening for quite a while yet,

I heard that California was supposed to ban all small engines in the near future
Not just RCs but anything with a small engine in it, weedeaters, mowers, saws etc
The world is going sideways pushing all this electric crap on us it’s already proving that electric cars are not the way to go.
Just wait until a Tesla starts on fire in an underground parking complex and burns down an apartment building with it
Electric cars are anything but eco friendly

Yeah the whole electric car movement is a joke as to make electricity we use a Fossil fuel (coal) plus a tiny percentage of solar,
The batteries don't have enough distance to cover journeys so there are 20x cars waiting at charge stations half way through a journey eg; Sydney to Melbourne, Plus once the Batteries die it costs a ridiculous amount of money to replace them, Like someone said the Techs not ready yet, I'm sure there are more negatives than positives,
They already banned electric-scooters in Aust; as there too dangerous LOL.

Yeah though it might be Bull but you never know as in Australia the politition's ban everything fun there argument would be noise pollution or something..
Exactly the same in holland🤷🏻‍♂️ everyone starts talking abt the environment and noise

Ok, so let's get some facts in order.
Commifornia. It bans any small engines under 25hp from being sold after 2024. Your allowed to keep whatever you have, and on shelf inventory is allowed to be sold. This is specifically aimed at spark ignition engines from what I've read. There's another part thats supposed to go into effect by 2028 for larger engines, but time will tell if that sticks.
Just remember the people that live there could have voted this arse clown out thays pushing this bs.
It will also cause people to go out of state to purchase equipment. I know fellers, arborists and landscapers that are stocking up ok saws and ope before the end of the year already.

Now onto ev's.... look were all into rc and were very familiar with lipo, li-ion and all the fun lithium based battery technology. Be real honest. How many of you have experienced a thermal runaway? I mean the nail through a fully charged lipo? I'd bet it's very few that didn't try it to see if it works. (It's spectacular btw.) The cars predominatly use 18650 cells and some use 21700 cells. Which are used commercially in darn near everything these days. From cordless drills to laptops. They have a proven track record of being very safe. Statistically you stand a better chance of getting killed by a hammer then having an issue with a lithium battery. (Especially since they use the less power dance li-ion batteries.) The cars thay do catch on fire are train wrecks. Sparky fire fighters arnt equipped properly to combat the fires and really other then some real nasty chemicals not much will put them out. (Better lock up your phones, tablets amd laptops!)
So let's move away from that tired bit of fear mongering.

The real issue is the tech isn't ready. Not ready by a long shot, but the government is pushing it super hard to basically virtue signal "were going green." Coal and gas fired powerplants are what charges a lot of these cars. Hydro and nuclear power plants are frowned upon, because we're saving the fish and mushroom cloud type fear mongering. Really hydro and nuclear are some of the best eco ways to generate power. But most have been brain washed into believing they are not.
Our (the world's really) power grid is a 3 ring circus. Thats been true since the 70's and isn't getting any better, and will get much worse in the coming years. No one wants ro invest in it and really the grid should be completely torn down and redone, but it's not like that will ever happen. (Not even gonna dive into wind and solar and all those issues with power storage and whatnot)

So that covers the charging end of it.
Then you have the manufacturing end of it, oh yeah china hates us, and we get something like 80% of the raw, semi and finished materials to build these batteries amd vehicles from them. (BTW we import most of our oil from other countries that hate us too, instead of tapping the vast, vast, vast reserves we have here.) All of these materials are very energy dense to produce. (Yep, diesel, coal, gas all those fun eco terror type stuff) but ice vehicles don't take half the energy to produce.... already netting ev down even more before they get their first charge on the green new deal way.
I can go on for days about this, but it's late.... I'll finish my rant later..

/\ preach the truth my brother.....sadly some of the folks in Cali voting for these people that are allowing this are fed up. So they are moving to Arizona to get away from it. No problem and we welcome you here!!..problem is...they are voting the same way here now...break the cycle friends. don't move for the change, then vote the change in here...off my political soap box.

Its the same thing here in Canada, Lots of leftist Liberals moving west and infiltrating our provinces and slowly turning our areas into the same $hithole that they created and left behind, and yep their voting habits never change, our provincial election is next month and there is a very real chance the idiots will vote in the garbage (NDP) again :(

Certainly hope not deathrawt! I for one, was born out West but my parents moved back to Ontario to be with other family. Since the whole COVID nonsense, I knew it was time to get the hell out of Ontario and back to people with a little more common sense ... well, turns out there's a lot of liberal idiots in Alberta these days between Calgary and Edmonton and those who love the idea of handouts and don't understand WE pay for them. Canada is slowly turning into a 3rd world country sadly. We don't produce or export a lot on the whole, and now that our oil sands have taken a kick in the shins again even that part of our economy is poop.

Liberalism ... it's a mental illness. True fact :)
