hi, I will be upgrading to this air filter and was wounding if I am safe to run that air filter with just a outerwear pre filter cover?

Just use a quality filter oil too

as above, yes they're fine and just use decent filter oil fella,
they filter great, i have a couple of em and never had any issues

what filter setup is that buddy? atm i have an mcd setup, but its very tight under my dibby shell! ..so keeping my eyes open for a low profile filter setup like this one here?

Tgn triple stage, don't know the correct name for it, I found it on eBay , the foam is 50mm high
It's angled for fitment, but you could cut it and make it straight, 65mm high on the highest point of the angle, 55mm high on the low side
