I am continuing the rebuild of a friends 5ive T 1.0 and am rebuilding the shocks. 3 went as expected by the 4th has a warped bladder, so the bleeder hole leaks oil on every compression. Well, it turns out that the rebuild kit with bladder (LOSB2856) isn't even sold anymore. Now the replacement shock rebuild kit (TLR253001) is supposed to work with with the 1.0 shocks, but the orange o-ring looks to be too big for the stock 1.0 shock cap. What am I missing here? And is there another way to get a bladder for this shock?

Thank you!

I did get the o-ring to set about 80% down the shock cap (whereas I thought it needed to be farther down in the cap corner), and if I tighten it down to where to just starts to feel resistance, it appears that no extra oil bleeds out. But then there is about 3 rotations of threads exposed because going tighter breaks the seal. Perhaps someone more experience with this rebuild kit can confirm this is expected?

No problem. I've yet to eliminate the bladders in my 1.0 shocks so I've yet to try with the o-rings you mentioned. I have a few new style kits I can try and see if I make sense of what their saying. Basically it seems you just want to seal the hole from the body of the shock, are you using the o-ring on the body or in the cap? Try and shove the o-ring in the cap and use a small pick and try to get it to sit flat above the threads... btw any pics of the o-ring sitting in a cap? I can't really do much other than type at the moment I just had surgery so no lifting or wrenching for a week for me.
